"does the invitation to a drink still stands?"
Chae-Yeong was walking across the entrance hall when she heard a loud voice reverberating throughout the hall. She came to a complete stop and sighed. She knew that voice far too well.
Chae-Yeong turned around and took a few steps back. She observed a group of reapers looking at the screens on the wall that showed the reaper disciplinary action announcements. She recognized Ms. Jang and Ms. Jeon from the Escort Team, and of course the one who caught her attention in the first place.
"Mr. Choi."
The group of reapers turned their heads towards the voice. As soon as they noticed the Director's assistant standing there with her arms crossed, they all swiftly dispersed, running off in different directions. The one who remained was Jun-Woong.
He offered the woman an awkward smile and waved.
"Good morning, Ms. Kim."
Chae-Yeong swayed her head and turned around to leave. Though, she wasn't successful in getting aways from the half-and-half.
"Ms. Kim, wait!"
Jun-Woong was running after her. When he managed to catch up, he copied the reapers pace and walked beside her.
"Ms. Kim, I have a favor." Chae-Yeong didn't slow down her pace, she didn't even look in Jun-Woong's direction. The man sighed. "Ms. Kim, please. Just one favor. It's important."
Understanding that she won't get rid of the annoyance that is Choi Jun-Woong, Chae-Yeong sighed and stopped in the middle of the hallway. She turned towards the man and raised an eyebrow.
"What?"
Wide smile appeared on Jun-Woong's face, before he once again became serious.
"Could you, please, do something so that other reapers wouldn't harass the RM Team that much. It's getting out of hand lately."
Deep underneath the stone-cold façade, Chae-Yeong was surprised and a little bit awed. More than that, actually. She still remembered Jun-Woong's first day here in Jumadeong, and how much he hated the RM Team.
And now, he came to Chae-Yeong, asking for her to do something so other reapers wouldn't harass the said team and its members?
"Uh, Ms. Kim?"
Chae-Yeong didn't even realized she was spacing out because of her initial shock. She blinked and gently swayed her head. She then turned her attention back to the man in front of her. She unfortunately had bad news for him.
"Apologies, Mr. Choi. There's nothing I can do about it."
Jun-Woong's face slackened.
"Nothing?" If Chae-Yeong would be built different, she might've shed a tear of how miserable the man before her looked. Like a kicked puppy.
