"people like you don't deserve to walk on earth"
Kim Chae-Yeong was in the Director's office. She was sitting on the couch, minding her own business while Koo Ryeon was inquiring to the Director about Park Joon-Gil and his sudden interest about his recurring nightmares.
Chae-Yeong noticed the glance Ryeon spared in her direction when the pink-haired reaper walked into the office. Koo Ryeon was unaware up until this point of how much Kim Chae-Yeong knew about her background and the precise nature of her relationship with Park Joong-Gil. But now, seeing here there, the Team Manager connected the dots.
When Koo Ryeon left, Chae-Yeong sighed. She turned her head towards the woman sitting behind the desk to note that she was already looking at her.
"Has Mr. Park inquired to you about his nightmares?"
Chae-Yeong ought to have anticipated that question. She briefly glanced down at the floor, then looked back up.
"He might."
The Jade Emperor raised one eyebrow causing Chae-Yeong to roll her eyes.
"Yes, he mentioned something about his nightmares." The woman looked down at her hands. "He asked me if you could help him understand the situation."
Chae-Yeong glanced up to note that the Director was waiting for her to continue.
"And?"
Chae-Yeong rolled her eyes. Again. "And I told him that you always beat around the bush and never explain things."
The Director hummed before looking down at her desk.
"So that's why he came to me that day."
Chae-Yeong was surprised to hear that Joong-Gil actually went to the Director and asked about the nightmares. She then wondered whether he had learned anything beneficial or had simply become more perplexed than before. Chae-Yeong could wager on the latter.
The assistant then looked at the other woman.
"Do you think it's possible that with time he remembers everything you made him forget?"
For a minute the Director said nothing. She was staring at something on her desk, deep in tough. Then she looked up at her assistant.
"He shouldn't. And by the way how much interest he's showing about this topic you have to do anything in your power to stop him from finding out."
Chae-Yeong nodded her head. Though internally she let out a deep sigh.
If only that would be so easy.
