"Hey, thanks for making these with me." Said Antonio as I started to wash up.

"No problem."

"The tester batch you made for work was lovely. How'd you learn to bake like that?"

"I needed an escape a lot of the time. So I learnt to bake. Me and a friend used to bake together."

"Oh cool. I'm sorry you felt like you needed an escape. If you don't mind me asking, was it bad at home?"

"I don't mind. Yeah, it was bad. It was good until I turned ten. We lost my sister due to a drunk driver and my family kind of fell apart. My mom got into drugs and died and then my dad died due to liver failure."

"I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have asked."

"It's fine. When I turned ten, I moved into a group home until I turned fifteen."

"You were adopted? That's great."

"Something like that, yeah."

"Who did you bake with?"

"His name was..."

I wanted to carry on talking but my phone started to buzz. I looked down at it, seeing the message pop up on the screen before I swipes it off.

"Sorry. How about we get the other batch done?" I suggested as I place my phone on the side.

"Sounds good. Did Kelly request any flavours?"

"Not that I can see. He said to just keep them simple."

"Why are we making them again? I don't mind but it's just odd."

"I stayed at Kelly's and Stella's the other night after someone broke into my apartment. I just wanted to say thank you."

"Well it's a good gesture, you make good cookies."

"Thanks." I said as my phone pinged again.

And again. And again. Until, it started to buzz meaning I was now being called.

"You can get that if you need to."

"It's not important."

"You sure?"

"Yeah." I said as it buzzed again.

"You know what, I'm going to take this. I'll be back in a minute."

I walked out to the patio at the front of Antonio's house and took a seat on the steps. I looked down at my phone seeing Luke's name flash up on the screen.

"What do you want?" I asked him as I swiped the call.

"Nice to speak to you too, Princess."

"Cat got you're tongue?" He asked when I didn't answer.

"Answer my question."

"We need to talk."

"I'm busy."

"Making cookies?" He asked.

He's around here somewhere. I stood up and walked out to the gate before stopping and looking around. My eyes landed on a very handsome guy that was leant on the front of his truck.

I looked back at the house before I walked over. The second I got to him, I punched him in the stomach.

"Love you too, Princess." He laughed as he bent over in pain.

"You know what, screw you asshole. I'm busy and I do not want to talk."

"C'mon, five minutes."

"No. Now leave me alone."
