[ON MY OWN- DARCI]
It's been a week since the vacation getaway and Jason's graduation, everyone has returned back to Central City and was quick to get filled in about a certain situation. Caitlin has told the team she has agreed to help Allegra's cousin, Esperanza AKA Ultraviolet to get her voice back. The heroes were quick to the idea, saying that she could take as much time as she needed to and have her back to who she was before.
Although, instead of being met with some random hungry meta for the past few days, the only thing that was bringing down the heroes was personal work. At least say, their calendars were filled with them, almost keeping them in their workplace for long periods of time.
Just like, Barry Allen── it was late at night as he was still working on a few files, his gaze transfixed on the paper in front of him and a pen in his hold. He starts writing something and glances at the time knowing it was very late and he will have to call his wife to let her know that he might make it home late.
He was too transfixed in his work and thought, he didn't notice a familiar figure in the room standing a few feet away from him, watching him work with a faint smile. The person nervously moves in their spot, quietly clearing their throat as he says, "Dad?"
The brunette furrowed his brows, a sense of familiarity hearing their voice── knowing he's heard it before. He looks up from his file, meeting the person's gaze and his expression dropped, a feeling of both confusion and shock at their presence.
Barry Allen was looking at none other than his son, Liam Harper-Allen, who looked at him with a small grin.
The young speedster was wearing a certain black leather jacket with a blue hoodie under, ripped jeans, and high-top Converse.
Barry stared at him, still trying to grasp the thought of seeing his son, his and Y/N's son in his lab── standing in front of him, again. He felt a sense of happiness fill him up, knowing this moment was going to come soon when he will be able to see his son again and now he has.
He has his baby boy back.
"How― how are you-?" Barry stutters, standing up from his seat as his gaze doesn't leave him, afraid that he'll go away if he took his eyes off of him for a second.
"Don't worry, Dad." Liam said softly, "I know how hard this has been, but everything will work out as it is supposed to. I promise."
"It's really you." Barry starts walking towards him, his smile growing.
"Yeah." Liam laughs softly, walking towards him, "I love you, and I love Mom."
"I love you too," Barry tells him, the two meet each other as they wrap their arms around one another, holding each other close. "Your Mom loves you, so much― we've missed you so much, Lee."
"Tell her, okay? Tell Mom how much I love her, that I'll see her soon, okay?" Liam tells him, holding him close.
Barry only nods, still overjoyed of being able to hug his son again, and have him in his arms once more. The brunette building tears in his eyes as he didn't want to let him go──
