[IN MY HEAD- MIKE SHINODA]

It's been six months since defeating the Godspeed war, and since a certain couple has renewed their vows to one another. It was least to say these past few months were quite uneventful, a few crimes here and there but nothing major── but for some reason, Y/N has felt something off. Although she couldn't really put her finger on it, so instead she brushed it to the back of her head believing it wasn't anything important.

It was an early morning and two best friends were walking down the street of Central City, the speedster hooking her arm with the dark blonde. Y/N is wearing a magenta cropped blouse, jeans, and Converse, along with a light sweater, her hair down.

"So what's it like walking to go get coffee when you can run 4,000 miles an hour?" Caitlin questions, glancing at her with a teasing smile.

Y/N rolls her eyes playfully, looking at her and bumping shoulders with her, "Hey― even a super speedster can slow every once in a while. It's actually pretty nice."

Caitlin chuckles as the girl asks, "Is Frost going to join us."

"No." Caitlin shook her head, "Last night I sent her on a two-week 'Eat, Pary, Love' tour because she's still pining over Mark Blaine."

"Mark?" Y/N arches a brow with a disapproving expression and Caitlin hums in response, "Wasn't she mad at him all summer?"

"And fall, but she still misses him even though I told her he's a jerk who is never gonna change," Caitlin mentions.

"But she didn't care, did she?" Y/N guessed, glancing at her with a small smile.

"Yep, she said, 'The heart wants what the heart wants." Caitlin pulls her arm back for a moment to gesture her arms open── then quickly hooks it back with the speedster.

"Awe― you have to admit, in that heart of hers, she's a soft romantic." Y/N sighs softly and Caitlin glances at her with a thoughtful expression.

The two turned the corner and made their way inside CC Jitters. Once ordering their coffee, they sat on one of the tables, sitting across from one another. The speedster takes a sip of java as Caitlin sets her mug down and looks at the girl.

"I have learned one thing watching Frost go through all of this." Caitlin starts, the speedster is quick to set her mug down to give her full attention. "For the first time since Ronnie passed, I think I'm ready to get back out there."

Y/N smiles at her words, reaching for her hand and Caitlin grabs it with a soft smile, interlocking them, "I'm gonna start dating again."

"I'm really happy for you, Cait." She says honestly, resting her other arm on the table, "You more than anyone deserves to be happy."

"Thank you." Caitlin smiles, then glances at her coffee, "Now, if I could just get some oat milk for my coffee."

Just then, their phones go off and they pull their hands back to reach for their devices to check it out. Y/N looks at her screen noticing the alert── she quickly looks over at the dark blonde, "Two bullet trains are going to collide on the Calvert railway."

"Y/N, that's 50 miles south of Keystone City." Caitlin points out with an unsure expression.

"I know, it's gonna be okay," Y/N assures her, quick to look around before speeding out of the coffee shop without anyone spotting her.

She quickly rips off her necklace and slips the Electric-Flash ring on her finger, forming her hand into a fist as she holds it out and her suit flies out, she is quick to run forward and get it on. The Electric Flash speeds out of the city, quick to arrive at the location and catch up to one of the trains. The girl is quick to evacuate everyone on the first train to safety.
