Lily started crying and she ran down to the common room. I ran after her downstairs. But no one was there. I was going to kill Snivellus. Sirius looked at me, looking furious. Remus patted my shoulder.

"Don't blame Lily. She thought she could trust Snape. Let's try to go reason with him." Remus tried to smile encouragingly.

"He's a slimy git. I won't talk it out with him, I'll kill him, take the cloak and then we'll talk!" I shout. I want to kill him. Remus says soothing words I do not hear.

A large fifth year comes down the stairs, a prefects badge gleaming on his chest. "You chaps hear about the Slytherin new seeker. I heard he is pretty good." We both shake our heads.

"I'm the captain of the Quidditch team, Kingsley Shackelbolt. And you are?" His eyebrows raise. I clutch my wand.

"I'm Sirius Black and this is James Potter," Sirius says, gesturing to me. "Anyway, we have business across the castle, so see you." Kingsley waves at us as we leave. Remus stays in the corner, attempting to console Lily.

We head through the castle, turning at different points. At this point, an hour has passed of our free period. No point on spying on the teachers now. The main goal is to win the cloak back from the world's biggest prat. Lost in my thoughts, I bump into a Slytherin prefect.

I recognize him as the pale, pointed chin boy. "Hello boys, shouldn't you be in class?" He asks. I roll my eyes as he puffs his chest out proudly.

"We have a free period," Sirius explains. The Slytherin nods and sighs.

"That's good because I don't have to put you in detention now. Anyway, I'm Lucius Malloy. What are your names?" He asks, eyeing us carefully.

"I'm James Potter and this is Sirius Black." I say, tired of telling people our names. Malfoy nods again.

"My father, Albatrax, knew your father Sirius, they went to school together, you know. Both in Slytherin you know, shame you didn't get in." Malfoy shakes his head and wears a grim expression.

Sirius's face turns brick red. "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK, YOU PRAT! SLYTHERIN IS FOR STUPID COWARDS JUST LIKE YOU!" Sirius screams.

Malfoy's gray eyes narrow and his pale face is flustered. "That'll be detention for you Black and ten points from Gryffindor!" He roars. I was fed up with him as well.

"Percifous Totalus!" I yell, my rage pouring out. He goes rigid as a board. Sirius high fives me. I stand triumphantly and ruffle my hair. The spell wears off. Malfoy is fuming now. He sticks his finger up in a rude gesture.

"Five points from Gryffindor and detention as well, POTTER!" Malfoy yells. I guess he hated the insults more than my spell. We stalk away, basking in glory.

We eventually find our way to the Slytherin common room. The stone wall opens and none other than Snivellus emerges out. He is holding the cloak delicately.

His eyes widen in horror. "Don't hurt me.... I only wanted to see one for myself," Sirius and I draw a our wands, nostrils flaring. He takes out his and shouts,"Levircorspus!" And Sirius is lifted in the air by his ankle. I shout ,"Expillarmus!" And Snape's wand flies down the corridor. He frowns and I hit him with a tickling charm.

I shout the spell Snape used to lift him in the air. "Bye-bye, Snivellus!" I say. I help Sirius down, snatch the cloak from the prat, and run back to the tower. We have two minutes until Lunch. I go stuff the cloak under my mattress and head down to the Great Hall.

We stuff down pork chops and meet with Remus before our potions lessons. We explain about Malfoy and Snape. He nods grimly and runs off to his History of Magic lesson. I am almost into potions when Sirius's bag rips open.
