It was yet again, time for another soccer game. And Felix found himself actively looking for Changbin before it started. When he saw the rest of his friends show up, with Changbin walking with Chan and Hyunjin, he caught himself almost smiling. Maybe it was because Jisung had actually convinced the Australian to ask Changbin to show up a couple days before.
"Hey," Changbin said when he approached the Australian Wednesday morning before classes started. The Australian had texted him around ten minutes prior, asking the older to meet him by the younger's locker. And Changbin was quick to agree, walking away from Jake and Sunghoon since they were in their own world anyways.
"Hey," Felix replied, unsure of what to say next.
"How'd you sleep?" Changbin asked.
"Fine," the younger replied, "you?"
Changbin smiled at the question back, "I slept okay too."
"Ah," the Australian nodded, "so um.."
The older furrowed his eyebrows, "are you alright?"
"Yeah," the other said, "just um...so you know Hyunjin, Jisung, Minho, and Chan all come to the soccer games for me, Seungmin, and Jeongin, you know."
"Yeah, I know," Changbin chuckled, "what about it?"
"I was just um..." Felix hesitated. And he wanted to punch the older in the face. Mainly because he had glanced up at the older and saw the look on Changbin's face. A knowing look. He knew what Felix was going to ask, and was waiting for Felix to actually just fucking say it, "you already know what I'm trying to ask, so yeah okay that's all. I'm going to-"
"No, I don't know what you're gonna ask," Changbin shook his head, "what were you going to ask?"
Felix knew he was lying, but he still sighed and asked, "do you want to possibly come to the game?"
"Oh my goodness," Changbin gasped, "Is Lee Felix asking me to attend his soccer game?"
The younger sighed, "No. I take back my invitation."
"Too late you can't take it back," Changbin shook his head, "what time does it start? Isn't it at five? I'll be there."
Changbin walked away before the Australian could say anything else. And when Felix told Jisung what he had done, the other was way too proud of himself for having convinced Felix to do such a thing.
And Felix was beginning to slightly regret it. Only because of the fact that he was actively waiting for Changbin, and even found himself a bit excited when the older actually showed up, even though the Australian already knew that Changbin was going to show up.
Felix was a bit distracted when the game started, but it didn't take long for him to gain his focus. And even when he ended up making eye contact with the older, he was surprised when he didn't end up panicking. He was surprised when he didn't lose focus, when the older smiled at him. The foreigner was too focused on the game to worry about the other. Too focused on keeping an eye on the ball. Too focused on not falling over. This team was pretty pushy, less than other teams he'd seen before, but still pretty pushy. It was annoying. Felix ran a hand through his hair in irritation, watching as a teammate ended up stealing the ball. And since he was wide open, the Australian shouted, "here!" But of course, someone from the other team had to fuel his mild irritation and steal the ball before Felix could get it.
And he wasn't sure why, but when he glanced over at his friends in the audience and caught Changbin's eye, he felt his irritation begin to slightly dwindle down. And he quickly adverted his gaze because- the fuck? What the fuck? How the fuck? Why the fuck?
