Since Changbin's admission of staring, Felix had begun to see it. In his games, he almost got completely distracted because of it. He had caught Changbin's eye plenty of times, causing him to lightly smile each time. And during one game, he nearly tripped over his own feel on two different occasions just because he was looking at Changbin instead of paying attention to where he was going. And thankfully for him, the only person who really witnessed that he nearly tripped was Changbin, which was both more and less embarrassing.
At the diner, Felix would glance at Changbin and catch him staring. At lunch too. And during their hangouts with just the two of them too. Felix hadn't noticed it before, but now that he had, it seemed that's all he could notice throughout the day. All he wanted to really notice.
They didn't really noticed the change at first. The change in the atmosphere whenever they hung out. Whenever they looked at one another. It was nearly impossible to notice. They only noticed a week and a half after they had discussed the whole Changbin staring at Felix thing, when the duo were hanging out in the younger's dorm for a little bit one night, and the whole strange sort of moment started when Changbin sighed and said, "hey, I'm getting pretty tired actually."
"Oh," Felix said, sitting up and pausing the movie they were watching, "do you want to head out and we can just finish the movie another time?"
"Yeah, I probably should," Changbin said gently, also sitting up from Felix's bed, though keeping his eyes on the younger. He just liked how effortlessly stunning Felix was.
"Okay, I'll walk you to the elevator," Felix said, standing, slowly walking to the door, Changbin following behind him.
They walked down the hall slowly and quietly, Felix wondering why the air seemed so thick. Why he felt almost breathless. It was so strange and had popped up out of nowhere. He thought about it up until they reached the elevator and he pressed the down arrow button, looking at Changbin and noticing the older's stare. He smiled and said, "you're staring again."
"I know," Changbin nodded, his eyes drifting down slightly, "can't help it."
Felix hummed, taking a small step closer and Changbin did too, raising a hand and letting it hover right by Felix's waist. The older leaned a bit closer, watching as Felix's eyes fell shut before he let his own do the same. And their lips were about to connect, their noses having lightly bumped against one another, when a 'ding' interrupted them, announcing that the elevator had arrived. And it took all the strength Felix had to lean a little back, looking up at Changbin who had let his eyes open as well, and smiled softly, "I'll um, see you tomorrow."
"Yeah," Changbin nodded, taking a couple steps back into the elevator before pressing the number of his floor. And when the elevator doors shut, he let himself fall against the back wall, sighing with irritation as his head hit the wall then too, "what the hell happened?'
As Felix walked back to his dorm wondering the same thing, he ended up walking past his dorm, face palming and face turning red from some embarrassment as he entered his room and fell face first onto his bed. Felix was mainly concerned about the fact that he felt so disappointed that it didn't happen, was concerned on if Changbin was thinking the same way. Wondered if Changbin recognized the suddenly obvious tension in between them. Wondered if it would be awkward in between them from Felix's end.
And luckily for Felix, when the following day arrived and they were all sat at lunch, things weren't awkward between him and Changbin. And maybe that was the case because he had noticed how Jisung, Jeongin, and Seungmin were whispering. And Felix was more focused on his curiosity as to what they were whispering about, rather than any potential awkwardness between him and Changbin.
