"Jake, you're starting on the field first today coach said," Sunghoon said as he sat beside the Australian to put his gear on.
"Alright," Jake nodded, saying a soft, "sweet," to himself in English.
Sunghoon smiled at the little comment before focusing on the process it was to put on his gear. He looked up once he heard someone say, "no, I'm not giving him a chance shut up." Sunghoon decided not to listen in. He knew it wasn't any of his business anyway.
"Come on, Felix," Seungmin said gently, "he's pretty cool. He asked you if he could come to the game tonight."
"And I promptly told him no," Felix replied quietly.
"I invited him anyway," Jeongin crossed his arms.
"What?" Felix breathed out, "you know I don't like him."
"You hate him for no good reason, Lix," Jeongin said gently, "you haven't given him a chance yet."
"Yes I have," it was a lie and Felix knew it, "I gave him my socials, And we talked a bit before I decided he was annoying."
"You barely put in any effort into those conversations, Lix," Seungmin said, "I have producing class with him. Jisung and I sit by him, and Jake now and I asked him to show me the messages if he was comfortable. And I know your texting patterns, and I know that wasn't you."
Felix rolled his eyes and scoffed, "whatever. You guys can be friends with him for all I care, but leave me and him separate."
Jeongin and Seungmin shared a look before getting ready for the game, sitting beside their Australian friend. The entire team headed out onto the field moments later to begin warming up. Felix was a little distracted, keeping an eye out for Changbin, though he wasn't entirely sure why. He managed to convince himself he didn't care if Changbin showed up or not, and focused on warming up.
"Hey, good luck starter right midfielder," Sunghoon said to Jake as they walked out onto the field. And the other smiled, watching Sunghoon head to his starting point. Sunghoon was over by Jeongin in the back, a center back.
The game started out good, a lot of good communication on their team, while the other team sucked at it. Sunghoon and Jake kept unknowingly glancing at one another, all up until they eventually caught one another's eye and they both smiled at one another, chuckling to themselves as an unknowing red coated their faces.
Their team was doing good, ahead by six points by the end of the first half of the game. And it was at that point that Felix noticed that Changbin wasn't there. He furrowed his eyebrows because the rest of his friends were there to see him, Jeongin, and Seungmin play. Chan, Minho, Jisung, and Hyunjin were there. So why wasn't Changbin there? When Jeongin had asked specifically asked him to attend? It didn't make any sense to Felix. Changbin was so stupid.
"Felix, come on," Seungmin said after the game, pulling the Australian away from his thoughts and over to their friends on the benches after the game.
"Yeah, I'm coming," Felix chuckled as he let his friends drag him, it was like that after nearly every game. Felix never really wanted to complain though.
"Wanna walk out together?" Jake asked Sunghoon, who was putting his shin guards back into his soccer bag.
Sunghoon really couldn't help the big smile that made it's way onto his face. It was almost embarrassing, "yeah, sure."
The walked in silence for the first bit before Jake spoke up again, "you played good today. That's not something new though."
Sunghoon chuckled lightly, feeling a little flustered, "thank you, and same to you."
