Craig Turner

Craig Turner- Australian (father); Anglo-American (mother); Craig Turner is a transfer student from Perth, Australia whom attends the high school and has befriended several students, namely Lilah Belpois and Tolkien Williams. He is a perfectionist who cares significantly about school and his grades and has the ambition of becoming a system analyst when he graduates college. While he typically shows a stubborn streak to his personality around others, he can also be kind, caring, well-mannered, and polite. He uses Discord and is a Beavis and Butthead fan who often spends much of his time on social media, posting his opinions on a variety of topics and adopting a completely different persona online that he uses to troll users. Craig is outgoing, witty, and studious, frequently achieving academic success and devoting many hours to reading on subjects that interest him. He is shown to have an innate charisma that attracts other people, a talent for witty comebacks, a savage nature, and an unwavering sense of loyalty toward those he cares about. He is shown to be compassionate by how he rarely demeans others despite how others see them, as noted by her interactions with Eitan Zorski. Despite this, he has a tendency to be quite a competitive person, as shown by how he threw a fit simply because she scored one mark less than Lilah. Regardless of his intelligence and extroverted nature, Craig is still a flawed teenager who worries constantly about many things, most notably his love life and family situation. Consequently, he is prone to making rash decisions that he comes to regret, which he often makes due to being conflicted with emotions. He has an impeccable tendency to escape from his problems by suppressing his emotions all of the time, which never works in his favor. This becomes more prevalent when he tries to deny what he is feeling regarding his grandfather's death towards his therapist. 

Craig is nevertheless a humorous and sarcastic boy who tries to draw attention to himself in class with his jokes, which has made him fairly popular among his peers. He is sometimes made fun of for his Aussie accent and referred to as "Frenchie", although he wins people over with his brilliance when he provides a clever rendition of Animal Farm in class. He can be thoughtful in unexpected moments and likes to volunteer as a lunchtime helper at school, claiming that he benefits from getting "tacos and free sugar cookies" from the cafeteria. He is also quite direct and outspoken on occasion and participates on the debate team, despite having to overcome his initial fear of public speaking to perform at his full potential. Craig is known to have a bit of a temper, which tends to backfire on him as noted by his  friends and Tolkien, who isn't afraid to call him out on his nonsense. It is highly suggested that he struggles with anger-management issues due to his unhealthy ways of handling shock or traumatic events. This was projected most effectively when he developed an obsession with Lilah to escape from the fact that he still missed his grandfather, which led him to behave in questionable ways. Despite being irrational, making some bad choices, and being quite selfish at times, he almost never means to intentionally hurt anybody and does care about everyone he loves, such as his family and friends. Craig likes to play trading card games with his friends in his spare time, in addition to watching anime shows and listening to bands such as Mumford and Sons. He is infamously bad at sports, although he shows surprising skill when he proves to one of the best dodgeball players in gym class and annihilates a rival team from another school. 

He tries to have a strong moral compass and be considerate of his friends and their needs, being quite generous and selfless, as well as protective of people who have earned his trust. He has still shown himself to be image-conscious at times and has been unkind to the point of cruelty to his less popular classmates to gain social acceptance. Craig can also be romantic and yearns to find true love, which is indicated in how he admits to becoming sentimental upon watching Hunchback of Notre Dame with his sister. He also tries to be understanding and can easily put himself in other people's shoes, giving sound advice to anonymous users on forums at times. This is seen through how he is always more than willing to learn from his mistakes and has confessed to wanting to improve as a person. He has grown to be a more supportive friend and is more than willing to do defend others, which ultimately leads his heart to be in the right place. Even though he initially acts in a condescending way towards Lilah and his other peers, after he sees Tolkien paying attention to her, he realizes he has a crush on her and behaves in a friendlier way. He takes her in after her fight with her mother and encourages Lilah's classmate and romantic rival Hannah Quigley to mend her relationship with her once she and Diego Fonseca part ways. His home life is quite lonely, as his parents are regularly absent and constantly taking various trips, vacations, and retreats where they leave their son behind with their housekeeper. He feels pressured to bottle things up and appears to have abandonment issues due to spending much of his time alone when is outside of school. Craig is a Lord of the Rings fans and claims that his favorite film in the series is "The Return of the King", although he has also admitted to being fond of the Harry Potter series. 

He enjoys the SCA and is skilled at sewing, designing his own costumes that he frequently uses when participating with his friends. He is a decent artist, although he never managed to perfect his abilities due to abandoning his hobby of drawing of other pursuits and draws semi-realistic portraits of his loved ones. He has hidden "mature interests" as well and secretly looks up explicit content on the internet when others are not around, in addition to owning a few copies of Playboy. Craig's chivalrous nature was seen when he was ready to go out of his way to keep his sister safe from being scolded from his mother. He has a confident and radiant personality which can attract anyone, from his peers to his teachers, as noted by Eitan who called him "dope." He is also a determined person, as seen by how he confronted and dealt with his bullying at his former school and his sister's anorexia, along with how he had the courage to move on from his past towards a better future. He is deeply hurt by betrayal however and dislikes when people backstab him, as seen by how heartbroken he was when it turned out Tolkien was the one to start a rumor about him. Craig also has a rebellious streak and seems to think that breaking and entering is cool, praising one of his classmates for doing so. He has a spontaneous and adventurous spirit and is described by others as the kind of person who will try to do anything once. His goal is to earn his drivers license so that he can take a road trip to Grand Teton, although he has mentioned that he has visited the badlands in South Dakota and seen Mount Rushmore. He can still have moments where he can be wise and surprisingly cautious, refusing to join his friends for a "joy ride" knowing that it would inevitably end in a car accident. 

Craig formerly became a part of the "cool kids" group, particularly when he went into an all-boys private school, called Washington Prep. He is also very honest with those around him, stating that if he has promised something, he will do anything it takes to make good on it. While he is often a goofy kid, he is very mature when he needs to be and likes to give others the benefit of the doubt, describing himself as "democratic". He also chose at one point to treat his parents to Cracker Barrel, a top family restaurant in the city purely out of kindness. Craig is a teenage boy who has short dark blonde hair and wears a light grey beanie, a dark blue jacket with green trim, and dark-gray pants. He has a light complexion and stands at 5 ft 7 in tall with grayish-blue eyes, a medium build, and a straight, medium-sized nose, with a few moles scattered throughout his body. His beanie noted to be a trademark of his personality, as he is rarely seen without it even as he ages, and he alternates between wearing hoodies to wearing graphic t-shirts in his downtime. He is considered to be cute in a boyish way by many of the girls at his school and has attracted a few admirers, although some of the female students are repelled by his cocky attitude. Craig eventually confesses his feelings for Lilah during a blind date, which are mutual when she admits to having had a crush on him for a while before they share a kiss. Despite being polar opposites, the two compliment each other due to Lilah's patient and empathetic personality providing him relief in difficult times. He goes on to attend college at SUNY Oswego, where he earns his degree before settling down and working for a company in Brisbane. He remains best friends with her and Tolkien even after he and Lilah have broken up, and the three order cheese curds, managing to reconnect and spend quality time together at BJ's Restaurant.
