Wayne Kovac

Wayne Kovac- Czech ancestry; Wayne Kovac is a humble and self-possessed student who befriends Hannah Quigley and Mia Vasquez-Rivera while attending Syracuse University. He is an agreeable, compliant, and eager young man from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma who has continuously been regarded as a "good kid" by both his elders and peers. Characteristically hard-working and conscientious, he routinely proved to be a talented overachiever who diligently adhered to and completed his tasks, with an innate desire to please those around him and bring them together harmoniously. While he is gifted at portraying the role of the duteous, responsible child, he sometimes feels overlooked within his household as the eldest son, which led to his becoming increasingly self-sufficient as he tried to prove his competence to others. Self-effacing and unimposing, Wayne had a sense of autonomy and self-reliance from a young age, as well as an independent mind, and rarely cared about outside opinions as he single-mindedly focused on his goals and ambitions. His most noticeable trait is his rhotacism, a speech impediment that makes it somewhat difficult for him to pronounce his "r's". His unique speech patterns sometimes piqued other people's curiosity and had close friends of his joke that he "sounded British".  He nonetheless disregarded outside commentary and embraced his distinctive way of talking as one of his defining characteristics, and he claims that he is fluent in West Coast Rap. Wayne is generally composed, coolheaded, honest, and observant, preferring to remain neutral and uninvolved in the face of conflict and preventable disputes. Calm and untroubled, he is even-tempered and works diligently to serve as a role model for his younger siblings and fill her parents with pride. 

Despite being a sensible voice of reason among his peers, he generally tries to maintain cordial, peaceful relationships with others. He is accessible and polite, although he prefers to distance herself from emotional topics and react tactfully in social circumstances as a means of preventing misunderstandings and altercations. Despite his reasonable demeanor, Wayne can rely excessively on logic and be reluctant to express emotions or assert his true feelings. This in turn can lead to his reacting passively and shutting others out to maintain his inner peace as he filters out negative thoughts and emotions that can potentially lead to disturbances. During particularly unsettling circumstances, he is inclined to distance himself from others and immersing himself in her own mind and thoughts, which can lead her to appear self-absorbed and careless. His task-oriented nature can make him oblivious to the feelings of others, disregarding his classmate and good friend Lisa Hirsch-Solis lingering attraction toward him and appearing dismissive when exposed to Hannah's past. Wayne is still a friendly individual who tries to bridge the gap between hard logic and emotion, often undertaking the role of a mediator and listener as he tries to maintain this balance. He also expresses a willingness to adhere to the laws and regulations of his community, and with a love and desire for order. He doesn't mind undertaking the roles of a peacemaker when his mother's emotions overtake her as she tries to serve as his father's caregiver. Resourceful and shrewd, his quick-mindedness and perceptiveness gives him the capacity for foresight and resilience, with a certain stubbornness and slight sarcasm to him as he tries to brighten his life with creative solutions. 

Headstrong and intelligent, Wayne is tenacious and mature, quietly striving to accomplish goals without assistance and endure his struggles calmly. He is more practical and grounded in nature than his good friends Hannah Quigley, Mia Vasquez-Rivera, and Lisa Hirsch-Solis are. He has a reputation of being a hard worker who continuously attempts to actualize his dreams in order to achieve a better reality. He tends to poke fun at his good friend and fellow colleague Rafe Nichols' softness and delicateness as well, often remarking on his sensitivity to criticism when they playfully debate with one another during discussions. Wayne's favorite foods are poppyseed cake, quinoa, kolaches, cauliflower cupcakes, Extra chewing gum, and his family's Christmas carp, meanwhile his favorite video game is Total Turbo XXII. At 21, he has since moved into his own off-campus apartment as he tries to manage his college courses and progress academically. He has stated that he wanted to prioritize and focus exclusively on his studies upon enrolling in college, claiming to have little time for romance or a girlfriend despite finding some of his female peers to be objectively attractive. He nevertheless developed lingering feelings for his longtime admirer Lisa, whose friendship with him gradually evolved into a mutual romantic attraction. Wayne is a junior expert plumber, which is seen after her uses an auger nicknamed Big Bertha to unclog the toilet, although he also aims to clog the toilet himself with his own excrement. Another example took place when he fixed a shower, and he also possesses extensive knowledge in automotive repair and machinery. He and Lisa continue to support each other as he pursues his Bachelor's degree in Finance and Lisa completes her Computer Engineering degree.
