Morgan Fischer- Italian/Polish (mother); German (father); Morgan Fischer is a teenage girl who attends the local high school and is often regarded as a little weird but very helpful. She was born in Fresno, California and gets along with almost everyone on campus, as she is considered a bright student. She is self-assured, clever, sweet, confident, good-natured, fully womanly and perceived as a gifted athlete, despite her larger physique. She is quite strong-willed and is far more likely than the her timid best male friend Carl Valenzuela to stand up to others when she feels that they are wrong. Morgan is a member of the school's swim team and was formerly a midfielder on the soccer team, in addition to being one of the crucial members of an after school board gamers club. She also loves to watch anime and read manga, having a particular interest in Soul Eater and Fullmetal Alchemist, and her favorite author is Lauren Myracle. She is easily wowed by a lot of things and is a very understanding person, although she tends to occasionally show bouts of cynicism. Contrary to most depictions of most middle children, she actually seems rather glad at being left out of things at times, if that ever happens. Morgan is found to care deeply about her self-image, trying on numerous occasions to attempt to become more fit or at the very least, trying to lose a little weight. Whether it's directing the school play or fighting against world hunger, she is a go-getter who wants her voice to be heard. She was a straightforward, lighthearted, and cheerful person who was generally perceived to be somewhat of an "easygoing slacker" in her younger years, with a tomboyish streak to her identity. She often struggles to embrace her femininity in turn and chooses to dress for comfort to hide her growing curves and stands around average female height at 5 ft. 4.
Surprisingly, Morgan is also into cleaning up afterwards and explains that she was "raised right", yet she appears to be afraid of possums. With her long, unruly frizzy-curly blonde hair, animated baby blue eyes, and light dusting of freckles across her arms and shoulders, she has an exuberance and talkativeness about her demeanor and a love of making jokes. Kate Stankovic, whom she has been very close to since 8th grade, still appreciates her however and would not have her any other way, claiming that she "likes weird people" and that "normality is boring." She often serves as something of a "prankster" among her classmates and has a dislike of bullies, often making puns and exchanging witty banter during her fights. Morgan is generally kind and laidback around her friends, but sometimes appears loud-mouthed, outspoken, and blunt to a fault. She is generally found in an ebullient mood and seen to be in high spirits, with a habit of being rather vocal in her opinions and speaking in a strong voice. She comes across as a sweet, but tough, tomboyish, and energetic girl to many of her peers, being described by Carl as the type of person who will give you the "friendly-but-painful back slap" you need to pull yourself together. She beat up a boy who had been teasing her at one point in the third grade and gave him a black eye, only for her parents to later invite him over so that she would apologize to him meanwhile they scolded her. Morgan also has a bad habit of constantly chewing gum during class, which earns her stern warnings from her teachers, and is temporarily moved down to the seventh grade. She mentioned that she once tried to make earplugs out of gum in elementary school, leading her to have to cut most of her hair off. She grew up in a normal, happy environment consisting of her parents, a mother who formerly worked as a medical assistant and stepfather who served as a coast guard.
Her mother would later give birth to her toddler-aged half-sister Kellyanne and resided with her and her brother Cedric in a large Victorian home in the San Francisco Bay area that quickly became her home. Morgan moved to New York the summer before her fifth-grade year, during which her parents rented a townhouse in Long Island that has been her main place of residence for several years. Her parents divorced when she was 6 years old and she hasn't been in contact with her biological father since then, an electrician who struggled with depression and was neglectful towards Morgan and her mother. She considers her stepdad to be her real father and is best friends with Kate Stankovic, good friends with Carl Valenzuela, and close with Alec Buckley and the twins, Emma and Connor Tran. Often active and involved while at school, she is a member of the girls' softball team and plays the French horn for the school band, but tends to earn Cs in her classes. Morgan takes immense joy in showcasing her acrobatic and vocal talents, often performing impromptu shows for their family and friends. Driven by a hidden dream of one day achieving fame, she is dedicated to perfecting her skills and seizing every opportunity to shine. Craving popularity and acceptance among her peers, she often embraces the role of a class clown to draw attention away from her dyslexia and struggles with ADHD, both of which are the sources of her deep-rooted insecurities. Although she ultimately doesn't have many true close friends and doesn't necessarily like the less flattering attention she could receive in large groups, she is a people person who enjoys standing out in a crowd in a positive way. Morgan often stands out in her social circles, often acting playfully and telling jokes that some would describe as "making even her mother blush." An outdoorsy type of girl with a love of horses and nature, she is not particularly intellectual and prefers to engage in physical activity and enjoy the present moment.
