I entered the changing room already dreading P.E. I took a seat next to Brittney and sighed, head in my hands.
"Well someone woke up out the wrong side of bed this morning." Brittney said as she slipped out of her skirt.
"We have P.E Brittney. With the boys! Now I'll give you a minute to get that into your head." I smirked, as I began to tie my hair back in a ponytail. I slid my outgrown fringe behind my ears.
"Ooooh, yes! P.E with the boys! An hour to stare at them and admire the way their hair flicks back and the glimmer in their eyes." Brittney looked ahead pleasingly.
I giggled, "that isn't my point. All they do is make us all look stupid and shout at you for anything you do!"
"Maybe just don't do anything?" Brittney shrugged with a smirk.
Lulu strutted into the changing room heading towards me and Brittney.
"Come on. make room for me." Lulu said.
I moved my bags along the bench and gave her a soothing smile. I removed my tights and reached for my gym shorts.
"Why do you have unicorns on your knickers!" Lulu gasped giggling.
A forbidding dread drowned over me and it came to my sudden realisation that Lulu was in fact talking to me. My eyes became glassy but I somehow managed to keep myself together.
"Lulu, give a rest will you?" Brittney said, raising her eyebrows. I quickly put on my shorts, top and trainers and then sat on the bench waiting for Brittney. I've never had anyone stick up for me like that before. I was still ever so upset; I thought Lulu was nice. Not mean and annoying like Kerry. She's known to say things as jokes but you could definitely tell, it wasn't a joke. The way she said it, the twinkle of mischief in her eyes otherwise Brittney wouldn't have stuck up for me like that if it was joke.
"Me and Indigo are going to go now." Brittney said as she linked her arm and my arm to walk off, like true best friends. It's ironic really- a week ago we didn't even want to see each other's faces, and now look at us, linking arms walking down the corridor side by side, stuck together like glue!
We entered the sports hall and giggled, taking a seat on the benches for the register.
"Kyle likes you!" Keegan blurted out to Brittney, quickly covering his mouth.
"Shut up! No I don't." Kyle hissed to Keegan.
When Kyle and Keegan were together that meant trouble.
"Boys, give it a rest will ya." Mrs Miles said in her cockney accent, jokingly.
