I awoke from my beauty sleep to plenty of messages from a group chat and got involved in the convo.

This is what it said:

Ivy: hi girls! I made this group chat and deleted the old one with Lulu in it as seen as we aren't friends with her anymore and also I think it's about time that we make it official for Indigo to be in our friendship group.

Brittney: Hiya babes! Yeah good thinking. Lulu will not be returning into our friendship group and there will be no forgiving her.

Ivy: definitely!

Grace: yeah, totally agree with you Brittney.

Lucy: yeah. I don't think Lulu very much likes me anyway lol.

Ivy: anyone free to go uptown today? What do you girls think to some clothes shopping in the mall and a nice restaurant for lunch? Or we could just keep it simple for lunch and go to Starbucks!

Me: omg! Yes. I think I'm free. I'll ask my mum.

Lucy: I'm free.

Brittney: totally! Sounds awesome.

Ivy: Grace? Are you free and Indigo, have you asked your mum yet?

Grace: yeah, I'm available all day.

Me: I'm free all day too!

Ivy: Great! Let's say meet outside the shopping mall at 11am because that gives everyone plenty of time to be ready and get there.

Me: sounds good! I'll be there!

I gave a big yawn and hopped right out of bed and slipped my dressing gown on to go downstairs for breakfast.

"Morning Indigo. So from what you have told me, you are going on a girly shopping day! How fun. Are you going with that nice group of girls you're always on about?" Mum questioned.

"Yes. They are ever so lovely." I said, smiling whilst gazing off into the distance.

"Here you are, your favourite. Hot buttered toast with raspberry jam." Mum said sliding a plate across the breakfast table, towards me.

"Thanks mum!"

"So how much money are you thinking of bringing because do you have some pocket money in your piggy bank upstairs?" Mum questioned.

"Well if I'm shopping how much should I bring?"

"Take out twenty and I'll give you thirty." Mum crinkled a smile.

"No! Mum you can't possibly do that. You don't have to! I'll be fine with MY twenty pounds." I said getting defensive.

"Right, listen to me Indigo. If I didn't want to give you money and didn't trust you with money I wouldn't give you any money would I. But here I am giving you money because I want you to have a special day with your mates!" My mum said opening a tin in a high cupboard and pushing a twenty pound note in my hand and a ten pound note as well.

"Mum." I said.

"Indigo. Take the money. End of discussion." Mum raised her eyebrows.

"I'll pay you back." I said, as I stuffed my face with the toast.

"No." Mum tried to keep a stern face but couldn't contain her laughter,"Slow down my love with that toast."

"Should I wear a dress mum?" I questioned.

"Yes! Perfect weather for a dress. I think I'll wear a dress today. I'm going to a café with Milly." My mum said.

"That's nice."

"Why don't you wear that long, cream coloured dress with bluebells on it and the puffy sleeves. You have a lovely figure and it looks wonderful on you Indigo." Mum smiled with her head to one side as her hand cupped the side of her face.

"Thank you mum. You're the best compliment giver."

Mum giggled and looked flattered.
