I had finally got through the lessons I had been dreading and was now walking down a tight path with Brittney.

"So, I'm meeting Lulu and Ivy on the field. You coming with?"

"Yeah sure Brittney." I beamed a smile as I noticed the two girls in the distance sat on their coats as make shift cushions.

"Hey!" Lulu smiled as her eyes twinkled.

"Hiya!" Brittney patted down the ground before taking a seat.

"Haven't seen you in ages!" Ivy said.

"We literally met in the toilets first lesson."

"Oh yeah. Silly me." Ivy wafted her hand.

I pulled out my pack up from my bag.

"That's a lot of food you've got there Indigo." Lulu raised her eyebrows." Ivy has a pack of crisps and I  have an apple." Lulu continued.

Ivy opened her packet of crisps.

Brittney guiltily put her chicken and salad wrap behind her back as I made a lie, "I didn't have any breakfast. Also I don't think it's that much. All it is is a ham sandwich, cucumber, tomatoes and a dried fruit breakfast bar."

" we didn't have breakfast either. Did we ivy. Brittney?" Lulu smirked.

"I had breakfast." Brittney gazed up at them.

"What's that behind your back! You fat cow!" Lulu grabbed Brittney's wrap as Ivy and Lulu giggled.

Brittney gave an awkward smile.

"We are just having a laugh. You know that don't you Indigo? Brittney knows it's just for a laugh. Where is your humour Indigo?" Lulu said as she pulled a chocolate bar out of her handbag.

I gave a sigh of relief. Maybe they weren't that bad after all. At least they had a sense of humour.

"Who wants some? Obviously I didn't just bring an apple." Lulu broke some off and handed four squares each to Brittney and Me but gave Ivy five. You could tell who was Lulu's favourite.

"So, who do you usually hang around with Indigo? Don't recognise you, that's all."

"Oh ummm." I paused as Brittney butted in.

"Oh she used to hang around with this Big group of girls, didn't you." Brittney gave me a little nudge as she raised her brows.

Wow. Having Brittney as a friend is like having a literal life saver.

"Yeah, and I have known Brittney most my life. I think we were just sick of each other so we didn't bother talking at school." I gave an awkward laugh.

"Yeah. Our mum's are friends actually. They used to work together at a hair salon. Indigo's mum is really sweet. Her mum always used to take me and Indigo for walks down the lane in Summer and we would bring our pocket money to buy ice-cream. I remember when she used to paint our nails as well." Brittney smiled at the thought as she looks far beyond the clouds.

"Yeah." I smiled.

"And remember that time me, you and Max had a sleepover and we made a den." Brittney said.

We both giggled as ivy and Lulu gave reassuring smiles.

"Max?" Lulu questioned.

"Yeah. Max." Brittney nodded.

"Max who?" Ivy leaned in intrigued.

"Max Boils." Brittney whispered. I stayed quiet as Lulu and Ivy gasped.

"Max boils! That fit lad a year above us in year 11!" Lulu shouted. Eyes wide open.

"You know him?" Lulu glanced over at me.
