Jaylen (Jay) Soo
POV:

I wake up to the smell of eggs and bacon. And a hint of avocado oil..? I realize the TV is still on. Loud at that, what show is there anyways? Grey's Anatomy?

Did I sleep down here? I see all my Burger King trash, and quickly put it into the brown bag it came in.

I rub my neck due to the soreness I feel. Why didn't Junior wake me up? Right, because he fucking hates me.

New sibling rivalry at its finest.

"Jaylen, why didn't you sleep in your room?" My mom asks handing me a plate, sitting next to me in the process. White rice, bacon, and eggs. I mumble a 'Thanks'.

I get a whiff of my morning breath and instantly lose my appetite.
There's no way I'm eating without brushing first. I personally don't understand people who don't brush before they eat. I mean are you really mentally sane if you don't?

"Jaylen?" My mom says indicating towards the question she asked.

"Well, No one showed me where it was." I say, putting the plate on the coffee table in front of me.
"Did you ask anyone?" Oh, so it's my fault? I barely even know where the bathroom is. "No, Mom. I didn't ask." She expects me to ask Junior? He barely even looks at me.

"What time is it anyways?" I say yawning.

"Eight-thirty a.m." I'm surprised it's not seven. My mom and I have always been accustomed to waking up early. It was a routine we always did to get away from my dad, and ever since then, we just stuck to it.

"Your suitcase is still down here, brush your teeth. I'm gonna enroll you into school today. You start Monday."

What?

Monday? As in tomorrow?

"Mom, that's tomorrow."

"Exactly." My mom says in the same tone I gave her. "Take a shower, I'm still waiting for the car to get shipped, it should be here today or tomorrow. If it's not, you'll ride with Junior to school." Oh God no. And he drives?

"Mom-"

"Jaylen, no complaining. And no skateboarding to school. You say he doesn't like you but all I see is someone who needs to adjust to new people."

...Uh yeah, ME.

He's been an ass the whole time I've been here, and suddenly you think he's just 'misunderstood'?

No.

My mom raises her hand to my cheek and the other to my hair trying to tame my bed hair. I let out a sigh as she kisses my face, her red lipstick probably staining my pale skin.

"Go shower upstairs. You know where it is?" She asks standing up from the couch, heading back to the kitchen.

Uh no. "Yeah." Uhm NO.
