Caught Up

And this is 'Goodbye.'

Jaylen frantically packed a bag as he heard the yelling of Senior and his mother. He had tears falling from his eyes rapidly, as Kavari somewhat lectured him. Except Kavari felt like he wanted to cry as well. He wanted to bury himself underneath all the embarrassment, anger, and guilt he felt.

His dad saw him on video doing unspeakable things and he just wanted to simply run away. How did Jaylen forget to hide such a lewd video? Both of their faces were in it, so there wasn't even a way they could deny It was them.
Jaylen started to hyperventilate. How did he screw up so badly? Why did this have to happen to him on his birthday?

"Fuck, I'm so sorry Vari." He stuttered out. Jaylen wanted this to all be a bad nightmare. He wanted to wake up in Kavari's arms and pretend it was all a bad dream.
"Jaylen like, what the fuck? Are you deadass right now? How many times did I tell you to-"
"I know!"
"Then why the fuck you ain't do it?!"
Jaylen was cut off by a hard knock on his door.
"Open this damn door! Kavari getcho ass out here!"

Senior was basically kicking the door down. You could faintly hear Lily yelling at the top of her lungs.
As the door came down, Senior rushed towards Kavari, connecting his first to his jaw.

Jaylen simply froze.

Well, what the hell was he supposed to do?  Fight back? Everyone knows he rarely has muscle. All he's got is track legs, and good handwriting.
"Senior if you don't stop I'm calling the police!" Lily promised. She was not playing around, if anyone touched her son, she'd dial 911 in a heartbeat.

"If you knew this shit was going on why you ain't say a damn thing Lily?" Senior turned his full attention to her, as if Kavari and Jaylen weren't in the room with them.
"You think I'd risk my son's safety for your comfort? I love my son more than I love myself, I surely love him more than you! After tonight we're done." Lily meant every word she said. She didn't lie about anything she said right then and there.

"Your son is a fucking faggot, and so is mine! You must've known they were fucking in my house!"

"Pops, we ain't have sex-"

"So what if I knew Senior! They love each other!" Lily protested. Jaylen just continued to cry. He didn't say a word, just watching in silence as tears flooded his eyes. He was happy his mom was standing up for him for once, but he didn't know what to do.

He just wished at this very moment, he could disappear. "Love? Fuck you mean 'love'? What do they know about love?" Jaylen's stomach was in a knot. He simply wanted to run away. Or maybe restart? What was he supposed to do?
"Jaylen, let's go." Lily said. Her eyes full of tears, and face full of anger.

Yeah, this was a 'see you later.'

The next day of school Jaylen didn't show up. Kavari was mentally and emotionally drained, and all he wants to do is see Jaylen. The night before was even more draining. Senior and Kavari argued, and argued, and argued. A few punches thrown, some cuss words spat, and cold glares sent. Kavari looked for Jaylen, he even ended up asking if Kyah had seen him.

But no one had.

He was planning on texting Jaylen, but he just thought they needed time. The situation was still fresh, a new cut made from dirty broken glass.

Kavari had a basketball game the same day against a rival team from out of town. He had caught two of them arguing in the locker room about some girl named Sasha. "Mir I don't want that hoe, how many times I gotta tell you baby?" Kavari's stomach dropped a bit. He felt like he was invading their privacy.
