Grief

Tarrae's Pov

As I sat with a blank face looking at my ceiling

My phone ranged

It was Norman's mom

(Norman's mom= Nm)

Nm: " Hey Rae, am guessing you've seen the news," she said with a low voice

T: " Yes I've had and am sorry for your son's loss"

Nm: " Am also sorry for you because you know you were his girlfriend, but the reason I called you was we are having his funeral in a few days and I was wondering if you would like to come"

T: " Yes ofc I'll like to come but I'll call you later"

"Ok bye," she said before hanging up the phone

As soon as she hung up my dad called me downstairs

" Rae, come downstairs please"

I tugged on the sleeve of my long sleeve shirt and started wiping away the tears on my face

As I got down to the living room everyone was already there sitting on the couch while Corey and Stephanie were standing

I took a seat in between Sid and Craig trying not to seem like I've been crying

C: Ok so I'll like to announce that, STEPHANIE IS PREGNANT!!" He said pulling out a pregnancy test from behind his back

I sat there in disbelief looking at the pregnancy test

Why?

Why on this day

Of all days why this one

This day is supposed to be about Norman

Not about this new baby

As everyone was congratulating Corey

I tried leaving the living room to my room but I failed

I got spotted by my dad

C: " Rae, where are you going
aren't you going to congratulate us"

No, I said looking back at him

C: " And why is that"

T: " Today isn't about your baby, it's about Norman today...something happened to him"

C: " Ok well talk about this later, just come over here"

I looked at him with a disgusted look, before turning the other way around and starting to head to my room

C: " Rae, come over here," he said in a bit of a harsh tone

T: " GO BANG ANOTHER WOMAN," I said before storming to my room and slamming the door

I can't believe he's like this he already has 2 children he doesn't need another kid

I leaned on the door putting my hands over my face

I stood like that for a while until I heard someone trying to open my door

C: " Hey Rae, can I come in," he said with a low voice

I sighed, then turned around to open my door to see my dad standing there with bloodshot eyes

T: " Dad are you ok"

C:" Um I just saw the news...I know me and Norman didn't talk much but he seemed like a nice guy," he said walking into my room

T: " Yeah he was, his mom invited me to his funeral on Monday, I was wondering if we can go"

C: " Yeah ofc we can go, look am sorry for what happened earlier if only I knew that was going to happen I wouldn't have announced my information"

T: " Am sorry too for what I said earlier, just please don't break up with her as you did with my mom and your other wife"

C : " Ok I will don't worry ..."
