Chapter 96

We were back inside Chuuya's office.

Elise wrote an X.

I wrote an O.

We were playing a game of Tic-Tac-Toe.

She wrote another X.

I wrote an O again.

"Tie.." We both groaned and looked at the ceiling.

Chuuya was busy with his papers.

Finch was walking from the edge of Chuuya's desk to where his papers were.

"Can I help you?" Chuuya glanced at him.

"What are you working on?"

"What does it look like? Work."

"Could I help?"

Chuuya blinked twice in surprise, "Help?"

"Yeah. Help."

"Uh, sure."

I glanced at them and smiled. I then looked back at the ceiling with a bored expression.

"What now?" Elise mumbled.

"Uh... Networking game!" I looked at her.

"Networking game?" She looked at me.

"Yeah, we think of someone, we think of someone else, and then we figure out how they're connected."

"Huh?"

"Name someone you know."

"Chuuya?"

"Okay, name someone else that Chuuya might not know."

"Uh... That one weretiger in the Armed Detective Agency."

"Okay, well.. Name someone that Chuuya knows, that the weretiger might know as well."

"...Dazai."

"Okay, so they're connected through Dazai. You can make the game as long as you want."

"How?"

"They could be connected by a chain of people. One time, me and my brother were doing it for so long, it took 2 hours."

"2 hours?!"

"Yeah, but that was because we were networking actors from two different countries."

"Woah."

"Okay, let's start.. who and who?"

The door opened.

"Y/n." Kouyo was standing there with a smile on her face, "Come with me."

"A-alright." I stood up and followed her out of the office.

We walked down the hallway.

"What are we doing?" I asked her.

She smiled at me, "I have a surprise for you."

I walked inside a room with Kouyo.

"This is my office." She smiled at me and looked ahead.

Her office had traditional Japanese decorations.

She walked over to a chest and opened it. Whatever she had in her hand was covered by her long sleeve.

She placed the gift in my hand.

It was a black case. It sort of reminded me of a case you use for toothbrushes. On it was flower designs and a red string tied around the top.
