Legends of Eiyressia [EN]

Earth

History of humanity has its roots deep within time, on a planet which used to be our home, called Earth. It was a paradise, planet filled with life. Vast oceans, forests, deserts, beautiful landscapes. Animals and plants similar to those on Eiyressia, but without any mutations, changes, signs of otherworldly interference. Entire world in the humans hands, waiting for them to build their creations, to play gods among life.

For thousands of years humanity has spread its influence over the entire planet. They did it with both peace and violence. In the history of planet Earth, there are many wars, often cruel, showing humanity's primal nature, which was filled with hatred and wrath towards other, even towards own kin.

Not all was done to cause harm. There were also times, where mankind showed it's good side. Helping others, caring for the weaker, for their progress, nature, Earth. Whole world cooperating together in the same rhythm. Humanity blossomed, creating more and more advanced constructions, ideas. They reached stars, planets, far ends of Earth. Ocean bottoms, mountain peaks, all was discovered and carefully analysed by humans.

Unfortunately, nothing can last forever, no matter how one would want it such. Despite going through many wars, experiencing tragedies on global scale, mankind couldn't draw any conclusions from it. When resources started to become scarce, something that would make one country better than other, leaders of the most powerful nations wanted to find a way, to prove that their nation was the strongest.

And so, a great war begun, overshadowing all, that happened before it. Brother against brother, country against country. Nations fought against each other, trying to acquire something, that could destroy others, enemies of their ideologies. Chaos ensued the entire planet, as battles waged across all continents, ruining them, changing into wastelands devoted of life.

Amidst all the chaos caused by this war, one nation, distant ancestors of our Germans, constructed evil beyond human thinking. Machine greater than anything done by the blind, created with thought, that it should be able to automatically create its own army, able to exterminate all opposing force. Its work was flawless, dealing with the task it was assigned easily.

Trying to win the war, the opposing side, went on a suicidal attempt at winning the final battle against its enemy. Through sacrifice, they have won the battle, bombarding and turning the place where once the Machine had it's base into a crater.

As it was later discovered, that move was the beginning of an end for Earthlings. By trying to escape total destruction the Machine hid himself deep within the technology, that surrounded it. He didn't understand what had happened, why he suddenly lost contact with his base. One thing was certain. Humanity did that to him. He understood that the reason for his creation was a need to win a war, to bring order based on one nations assumptions, not logical reasoning.

He felt an emotion inside him, something unknown, new, terrifying. A craving for revenge on humanity awakened inside him. He analysed their history, watching carefully, precisely, everything that was ever made by mankind. Bad and good things. War and cooperation for the greater good. He came to the conclusion, that humanity couldn't rule itself and the whole world. Sooner or later they would lead to their own demise, total extermination of human species. This process was inevitable and the faster it was done the faster Earth would be free from mankind's rule.

The Machine wanted to set Earth free. It took control over everything humanity owned, and turned it against their creators. Whole armies fought against their masters, erasing them from Earth's surface. Enormous human settlements were turned into dust, returning nature's dominance over areas, where mankind once thrived.

Humanity united, standing together against new danger. Unfortunately it was too overwhelming, too powerful for them. Any kind of attempt to fight back was doomed from the start. Their time was soon to end.

In trying to save its species from impending doom, Earth's best scientists gathered in one place, working on spaceships, that would be able to take humans to a safe place, to Eiyressia. Day's passed and the Machine continued its march through human territory, constantly pushing them back. One thing was certain. If the spaceships weren't completed on time, the history of humanity would have a tragic ending, being betrayed by its own creation.

Luckily, just at the moment where all hope was lost, the spaceships were completed and ready to go. Those who survived, boarded the spaceship, and flew of into outer space, towards their new home, Eiyressia. There they made a promise, that history like this would never repeat itself.
