Seeing the warriors three leave from the Bifrost, most likely to bring Thor back, Loki knew he had to act fast on his plan. He immediately headed for the Bifrost where he ordered Heimdall to send him to Jotunheim. Once again reaching the cold lands Jotunheim, Loki was surrounded by frost giants as soon as he had landed.
"I demand a meeting with your king Laufey." Loki commanded authoritatively.
The frost giants led him straight to Laufey, where he gazed at Loki with anger in his red eyes.
"You have some nerve coming here again." Laufey huffed.
"Really? After all I've done for you?" Loki mocked.
"So you're the one who showed us the way into Asgard."
"It was just a bit of fun really, to ruin my brother's big day and to protect the realm from his idiotic rule for a while longer." Loki said menacingly. Laufey looked at him in contemplation.
"I will hear you."
"I will conceal you and a handful of your soldiers, lead you into Odin's chambers and you can slay him where he lies." He proposed.
"Why not kill him yourself?" Laufey Inquired.
"I suspect the Asgardians would not take kindly to a king who has murdered his predecessor. Once Odin is dead I'll return the casket to you and you can return jotunheim to all it's-uh-glory. " Loki promised. Laufey contemplated his words, seeming deep in thought then after a moment he stood up.
"I accept." Laufey agreed.
"Marvelous, then you shall wait for my signal to act."
Saying this, Loki summoned Heimdall to open the Bifrost and returned back to Asgard. Heimdall stood tall on the pedestal, extracting the sword form its holder, a suspicious expression on his face.
"I was watching over you in Jotunheim, but you were invisible among the Jötunns as if you were one of them." Heimdall said.
"Tell me Heimdall did you obey every order Odin gave you?" Loki asked.
"Yes." Heimdall simply replied.
"Why?" Loki asked again.
"Because he's my king and I'm his loyal servant."
"He was your king and now I'm your king, so from now on you will listen to my orders, is that understood?" Loki asked.
"Understood." Heimdall replied with concealed anger in his eyes.
"Good, so until I say otherwise the Bifrost shall not open." Loki ordered leaving the Bifrost chamber.

He headed straight towards Synthia's room to meet her where he was stopped by a maid, who refused him entry saying that the queen was resting and wished for no company. Feeling puzzled and somewhat hurt, Loki headed back to his own chambers.
"She has never denied me entry, maybe she is just feeling overwhelmed with all this and wants to clear her head in solitude." Loki tried convincing himself, ignoring the dreadful feeling creeping up in his stomach.
Trying to distract himself from his nerves, he started checking all the preparations he had asked the servants to make in his room. His chambers were lit with Synthia's favorite scented candles, there were flower petals spread on the ground and a scent of musk and sandalwood spritzed through the air. The atmosphere of the room was perfectly romantic, with a picnic set out in the balcony from which cool air was flying in.
