Yeonjun didn't show up for History.
And his absence was noted, and not just by Beomgyu.

But when class started, and Yeonjun's small circle of friends came in late. Beomgyu didn't miss how they sat closer to his side of the room. Moving two or three rows over.

The teacher himself noticed as well, or seemed to at least. But he didn't say anything, only giving the three boys a shifting glance before dismissing it.

And throughout the entire period, they all kept looking at him. They kept their voices low, and whispered.
But you know when someone's talking about you.
And Beomgyu kept meeting their eyes, and the young one. The one that always seemed to have a smile on his face kept looking over as well, showing off his grin whenever Beomgyu would catch him.

At one point he even waved.

And it was strange how Beomgyu felt no fear.
In fact, he was worried, over Yeonjun's absence.

So much so that when class ended and Soobin was no where to be found, he headed to the three boys. Finding them in their usually place after 5th period, talking by the lockers.

"Hey."

They all turned their heads in unison, and would have been cool if Beomgyu didn't find just a tad bit creepy.

They all wore a calm, bored mask of expressions. Even the young one, who now looked slightly intimidating given the missing smile.

But Beomgyu knew enough to look hard, and to ignore the surface. And what he found, honestly was a little priceless.

They were shocked. Fidgeting with hands in their pockets, glancing away to hide, a twitch of an eyebrow going up in surprise before being mastered.

They looked nervous, and it brought a warm kind of feeling in Beomgyu chest as he said,

"Yeonjun wasn't here today."

A glance between the three of them, a silent conversation before the youngest, in the subtlest eye roll he'd ever seen, opened his mouth.

"And?"

"And I was wondering why?"

This time their eyes turned to him testing glares, save for the youngest who failed to fight a grin as he leaned as the lockers.

"That's none of your business."

Another one said, black hair and big eyes. Not as big as Taehyun's but cutting it close for sure.

"Heesung."

The youngest warned, and Beomgyu watched as the now named Heesung glanced away. That was all the reaction he gave.

The youngest rolled his eyes, and looked to Beomgyu again.
Watching him, studying.

Before he finally spoke again.

"He's busy. We'll tell him he was missed."

But that wasn't the information Beomgyu was looking for.
He opened his mouth to ask more but then they walked away.
