Beomgyu put his headphones in for the rest of ride, only taking one out to hear a question being asked from either Taehyun or Kai.
Most of it was just trivial stuff.

'What kind of music do you listen to?'

'Which album should I get?'

'What's you favorite color?'

'If you could be a vegetable-?'

The last one Beomgyu shook his head at  with a smile and put his earbud back in.
Most of the questions were from Kai, and he had answered all of them, but even Taehyun could see how annoyed he was getting.
It wasn't anything bad, it was just something he loved;
Listening to music while on the bus.

Taehyun understood, he had sat right by him countless times without a word spoken between them, content.

It was just something Beomgyu loved, music was his safety net and he fell into every time he was stressed, or sad, or happy, or depressed.

Something about listening to music on the bus specifically rang a different note though.
All the chaos and voice being drowned out was a different feeling.
And he definitely needed it right now, going into a different place, people and the general high standards and expectations of such things was a chaos he needed to be prepared for.

Music was his way to prepare.

He overheard Taehyun answering the question for him between song changes.

"He would be an a strawberry. Because he hates vegetables. But if he had to choose he would be a bean sprout. Because he likes those the best."

"How do y-"
Kai paused and Beomgyu glanced over to see him realize.
"Y'all already talked about this haven't you?"

Taehyun nodded.
"Very in-depth conversation about vegetables. Just don't tell him you'd be a tomato cause he hates those and he'll probably wage a war against you."

Beomgyu stifled a laugh and Taehyun looked over at him, and gave him a genuine look of concern that melted into an honest smile.

He played the next song.

Beomgyu struck from his thoughts when Taehyun tapped him on his arm.
He was in the middle of a grilling through songs and looking at lyrics, but he took out an earbud without looking up.

"You might wanna come back, we're here now."
Taehyun said, a small giggle in his voice at his best friend's focus.

That got Beomgyu to finally look up.

And he almost couldn't believe what he was seeing.

Taehyun didn't lie when he said the school was built from an old cathedral, but Beomgyu didn't realize he meant old as in gothic old.

The entire building was huge, the largest tower reaching far beyond what he could see from inside the bus.
Connected at its base were two huge wings of the school, each of them ending in a small tower that was dwarfed the main one.

Each and every exterior wall was detailed. The masonry beautiful even with some part cracked or missing on the main building. Gargoyles hung over head, perched atop ledges, their gruesome faces depicting all different types of expressions in exaggerated detail.
