Beomgyu had been through a lot.
And that's an understatement in itself.
He had been bullied, beaten until he was broken and bleeding. He had been separated from his bestfriend. He had been heartbroken over who he thought was his first love.
He had been there the night his parents died.
Had seen what was left of them.
And yet still...
He could be shocked.
He thought he had witnessed tragedy that would trump any other surprise life had for him.
That he would be able to get through it.
But now, sat in the library, Taehyun sitting in front of him...
He had been wrong.
"What do you mean, it's real?"
Taehyun sighed, shaking his head.
"I've told you four times Beomgyu. It's real, what you read is real."
Again, it was like his mind couldn't hear the words correctly.
"So, what are you saying?"
Beomgyu asked, and Taehyun had never looked so defeated.
"Everything, every word in that book is real. It's fact. Humans have not been told the truth for centuries, and they never will never know if the government has anything to say about."
Taehyun spouted out quickly, like he was holding in words he'd wanted to say for too long.
"So, what? Magic is real?"
And Beomgyu watched Taehyun nod his head.
"How though? That's stuff you read in story-"
"-books, yes I know. Where do you think they get all the ideas?"
Taehyun looked at him, and the genuine glint in them made Beomgyu want to hurl.
"Explain."
Beomgyu said simply.
"You already read everything didn't you? You saw the history section, and the science section. It's all in there. Why do you I have to tell you?"
Taehyun looked uncomfortable, annoyed almost.
It was curious.
"Because I've already looked through them, and I'm still not believing what I'm seeing."
Taehyun gave him a look.
"So you think you'll believe it if you hear it?"
The question was sarcastic, but Beomgyu answered,
"Yes."
Taehyun let out another huff of breath. Rolled his eyes. Shook his head.
Mumbled something that sounded like "-kill me." And then looked back at Beomgyu.
Who waited patiently.
"Magic is real. So are wizards, and witches, and elves, and gnomes, and fairies. Dragons are also real, but their different then you think. Vampires and werewolves and any Fae really- they are all real."
Taehyun took a breath.
