If things were different

Thanks to all my amazing readers. In honor of these shorts having over 40 000 reads I've updated the very first Olivarry story I wrote. But I've turned it into one long chapter and I made some new adjustments.

When Barry reverses Vandal's attempt at wiping everyone out of existence, he ends up creating a timeline where things are a bit different regarding himself and Oliver.

A minute ago Barry had watched Oliver and everyone else being wiped out from existence, but suddenly he was back hours before it all happened.
"Thank you for coming, I know this is more than a little bit crazy." Oliver said, standing next to Malcolm, just like a few hours ago.
Barry was still disoriented from what just happened and Oliver immediately noticed his concern.
"Bae, are you okay?" he asked full of compassion, which only made Barry more confused.
"Did you just call me bae?" Barry wondered with a raised eyebrow under his cowl, once he remembered how to form words.
"Yeah, we're getting married in a few weeks, why shouldn't I?" Oliver's response caused Barry's jaw to drop as the realization washed over him that he hadn't just gone back in time. He had created a new timeline.
"Oh boy..." Barry said and ran Oliver away from Merlyn to talk.

In a flash Barry rushed Oliver to the back of the safe house, where everyone hopefully were in this timeline too.
"Ollie, it's not gonna work." Barry said, fumbling as he remembered the awful sight of Oliver's flesh being separated from his bones.
"Taking down that immortal maniac? Barry, did you run back in time?" Oliver asked and Barry nodded carefully.
"Yeah, but it looks like I messed up more this time than I ever have," Barry sighed pulling his cowl down to drag a hand through his hair. "Ollie, you're with Felicity in the actual timeline."
To his surprise Oliver cracked a laugh. "What?" the archer seemed confused by the idea. "I went on one date with her, but then you called and said you were out of your coma and we've been dating ever since. Felicity is with Laurel now."
Barry could only stare at the man in front of him. How much did I mess up? he wondered as he pulled a hand across his face. Only to notice a golden engagement ring on his finger.
"Ollie, I have to fix this. It's not real." Barry said, but Oliver was suddenly standing even closer, imposing on his space.
"Isn't it?" Oliver asked and cupped Barry's cheek before leaning in to kiss him.
The moment Oliver's lips brushed against Barry's, the other timeline didn't matter anymore. The warm mouth combined with the stubbled skin and the gentle tongue movements caused Barry to part his lips a bit more. Without caring about the consequences he tossed his arms around Oliver's neck and returned the kiss.
Because ever since he met Oliver, he'd been waiting for this moment. For Oliver to like him back. Under the light of the stars, he allowed himself to relish in their first kiss, until a soft gasp escaped his mouth when Oliver pulled back.
"Did that feel real enough for you?" Oliver asked with a smile and a sparkle in his blue eyes that made Barry blush and his heart raced faster.
"Oh... um, yeah, it felt very real." Barry stuttered, carefully touching his lips while Oliver took another step back.
"Come on, let's create a new plan to take the immortal maniac down, so we can go visit my son." Oliver said while linking his green clad fingers with Barry's red ones.
"You know you have a son?" Barry asked. Suddenly reminded of the argument between Oliver and Felicity that he had witnessed in the other timeline.
"I only just found out earlier today and I would've panicked if it wasn't for you," Oliver explained with a soft look. "You calmed me down and we spoke to Samantha together and she allowed me to be a part of William's life, thanks to you working for the police."
Oliver flashed Barry another irresistible smile. This timeline was too good to be true and Barry wasn't sure he could restore it anymore.

A few hours later they had defeated Vandal and said goodbye to the Hawks. As if it was the most normal thing in the world they walked hand in hand in Central City talking about Oliver's son and shared a hug before Oliver left to see William on his own. Barry thought it was for the best, since they had promised not to tell William about the craziness or let anyone else know about him.
But he said he'd wait for Oliver in his Star City apartment. Apparently theirs whenever Barry was over. He had learned that they still lived in separate cities, but their teams helped them out a lot and Barry mostly crashed at Oliver's place.
Barry found it really strange to enter Oliver's home because everything felt different compared to a few hours ago. Out of curiosity he inspected every room, including Oliver's and found a picture of them on the nightstand. They were both in their superhero suits, smiling at each other.
"It's strange, but I don't want to lose this." Barry muttered to himself as he returned to the living room and dropped down on the couch.
But he quickly got bored and decided to order pizzas. He was busy eating when Oliver came back.
"Looks like you've settled into this new timeline." Oliver said with a big smile as he closed the door, which caused Barry to quickly grab a napkin to wipe any tomato sauce off his face.
"Maybe, but how's your kid?" Barry asked, suddenly wanting to know everything.
With a smile Oliver hung up his leather jacket and approached Barry on the couch while Barry sipped on a soda. "He likes the Flash so I guess we already have something in common."
Oliver's words sent a warm feeling through Barry. "Too bad I haven't really decided if I should restore the timeline or not?" he said and put the empty soda can back on the coffee table.
The teasing comment earned him a tickle match on the couch, that left him laughing and panting with Oliver on top of him.
"This really isn't the way to convince me to stay." Barry said while laughing and writhing under the ticklish torture.
Oliver stilled and placed a calloused hand against Barry's cheek, sending another warm wave over him. "How would you like me to convince you?"
The question made Barry's heart jump because he wanted nothing more than to spend the night with his fiancé. But it wasn't right when the real Oliver would never want him.
"Hey, what's on your mind?" Oliver asked as he pulled Barry up in a sitting position. Still holding both of his hands.
"That I should fix the timeline before it's beyond saving." Barry said with a deep sigh as he let go of Oliver's hands.
"Why?" Oliver asked with a sting of hurt in his eyes. "You said we failed to take Savage down in that other timeline, what if that's because we weren't together?"
In a strange way that made sense because Barry once again felt pained by the memory of losing everyone when they were wiped out. Especially Oliver. Maybe this timeline was the right one?
"So you think the universe wants us to be together?" Barry asked and tilted his head while placing his arms around Oliver's shoulders.
"Not the universe, Barry," Oliver said with a smile spreading across his face when Barry raised an eyebrow. "You changed the timeline. So somewhere in your subconscious you must've wanted this."
Oliver's words gave Barry the courage to lean in for a second kiss. His lips instantly melted against Oliver's and he let out a sigh as Oliver deepened the kiss.
Barry was suddenly brought onto Oliver's lap while a hand travelled up under his shirt, causing his body to vibrate slightly.
"Sorry." Barry gasped, breaking the intense kiss because he felt embarrassed by the sudden uncontrollable reaction.
"It's not the first time I'm about to sleep with you," Oliver said with a grin that made Barry's heart flutter even more because for him it was the first time. "Oh, wait we never...?"
Barry was shaking his head when Oliver caught up. "Nope, you're possibly the straightest man I've ever met in the actual timeline." he said, letting out a nervous laugh.
"Good thing you fixed that." Oliver said, still smiling when he claimed Barry's mouth in another hungry kiss. His teeth even scraped against Barry's bottom lip.
"Mmm, god me too." Barry sighed and wrapped his arms tighter around Oliver's neck while rubbing the growing bulge in his pants against Oliver's.
"I can feel that. When was the last time you had sex with anyone?" Oliver asked without a single ounce of embarrassment, but the question caused Barry's cheeks to flush red.
"I have no idea... too long." Barry said while trying to avoid Oliver's intense blue stare.
"So let's stop talking and speed me into the bedroom." Oliver whispered into Barry's ear. The order sent a chill down his spine, in a good way and he didn't have to be told twice.
