*3rd Person POV*

Donnie sat in the barn at his work bench, trying to pry open the necklace he found in the lake.

*Previously*

Off in the distance from them, Donnie was still diving. As he went under the water again, he noticed something glimmering beneath some rocks. Swimming deeper, he moved the rocks out of the way and saw a necklace. He grabbed it and swam his way back up the surface. After he rubbed the water out of his eyes, he took a look at the item. His eyes widened as he realized, it was identical to yours. The only difference is that this one had, what appeared to be, a gladiolus flower engraved on the front.

Donnie tried opening it, but there was some sediment encrusted on the seal of the locket necklace.

*Back to the Present*

He kept chipping away at the sediment, careful to not scratch the locket. "Okay, please work!" He mumbled to himself after removing most of the sediment. "Ah ha!" He cheered when the locket popped open.

Inside of the locket was an image, surprisingly untouched by water. In the picture, there was a woman and a little girl. Both the little girl and woman had (h/c) hair, (e/c) eyes, (s/c) skin and identical smiles. "Wait a second... I recognize that smile! Y/N!" Donnie exclaimed to himself. "Wow... she's the spitting image of her mom. This must be her locket."

Mikey the appeared behind him, "Did'ya open it?" Donnie moved to the side for Mikey to see, "Yeah, look. Its Y/N and her mom." "Woah... it's really lucky that you found that necklace." Mikey commented. "Right? What a coincidence! I wonder how Y/N will react!" The purple masked turtle smiled.

Donnie then looked to the empty side of the locket, except it wasn't empty. There was engraving in it. "'Your patience is your power.'" He read aloud. "Hm..."

Donnie carefully took the image out of the locket and put it in a safe space. He then finished cleaning up the locked, making it shiny. When he was done, he returned the picture to its correct spot in the locket. "All done!" He proudly smiled to himself. "Now, time to give it to Y/N!"

Donnie and Mikey left the barn and went back into the house, Mikey going to sit in the living room. "Y/N?" Donnie called out, searching for the girl. "In the kitchen!" Y/N called back. Donnie made his way into the kitchen with a smile, but that smile dropped once he saw Leo.

The two brothers locked eyes and immediately there was tension. "Whats up, Donnie?" Y/N asked with a smile, not picking up on the brothers tension as she was distracted with baking cookies. Donnie ignored Leo and stood next to the girl, "Y/N, may I have your attention please?"

"Of course, Donatello." She smiled as she wiped her hands clean. The purple masked turtle slightly shivered at his full name rolling off her lips. He cleared his throat, "Well, I have something for you. A gift! I found it and cleaned it up, I hope you like it." He held his hands out to show the locket. "Whats this?" Y/N mumbled to no one, "Wait..." She slowly and gently took the necklace into her hands, running her thumb over the engraved gladiolus flower on the front.

"Where did you find this?"

Y/N had her head held down, her voice was low and shaky, neither of the brothers could understand her. "What was that?" Donnie questioned, lowering his head also to look at Y/N's face.

"Wait! Are you crying?!" Donnie shouted, once seeing the tears flowing from the girls eyes. "Crying? Donnie! What did you do?!" Leo also shouted. "I-I just-!" Donnie started but was cut off.

"Thank you!"
"...huh?"

"Donnie, thank you so much!" Y/N sobbed out, now looking up as she wiped away falling tears. "I'm gonna be honest, Y/N. I can't tell if you're happy or not." Donnie said. Y/N then jumped into his arms, hugging him around his neck as she continued to cry. The purple masked turtle didn't waste any time to hug her back, wrapping his arms around her waist.
