Everyone waited silently for Bakugou to say whatever it was he could muster as a speech. Standing in front of the microphone... but I kind of saw where this was going as his dry expressionless voice was heard.

"I just wanna say... I'm gonna win."

Why am I not even surprised??

Those last 3 words caused a negative uproar with the rest of the first year students. Causing them all to shout and boo at his cocky words of self proclamation.

"Why would you be so disrespectful?! You're representing us all!!" Iida shouted, waving his arm at the ash blond.

"Not my fault the rest of you are all just stepping stones to my victory." Bakguou said calmly, looking at the 'extras' as he would call them, giving them a thumbs down.

"I'm gonna crush this overconfident jerk!!" Exclaimed a student from class 1-B, who oddly enough sounds like Gajeel from the anime Fairy Tail. "I can't wait to knock him down to size!!"

I know I don't know Bakugou on a personal level, and haven't known him for very long, but I don't believe his words were overconfident at all. If they were, he surely would have laughed at the expense of mocking everyone else here. But that wasn't the case.

His voice was firm, though dry along with his expression, his tone was nevertheless sincere to me. Todoroki and Midoriya made their declarations of war... but I couldn't help but think back to the conversation I heard between him and Midoriya after the battle training on day two with All Might.

That was hum pushing himself... not wanting to lose to Midoriya again. 'Along with making us targets at the same time...'

I thought to myself as Bakugou walked down from the stage, passing by Midoriya, brushing past his shoulder. I couldn't help but look at him. His determination... despite his fiery and explosive attitude... It was admirable.

"Without further adieu, it's time for us to get started!!" Midnight exclaimed, officially putting the festival in motion.

"The first game will be drawn at random! This is where you begin feeling the pain~" Of course she has to bring her sadistic tendencies into her role of umpire.

"The first fateful game of the festival..." She draws out, the hologram I explained earlier shows us, rolling like a slot machine. "What could it be?" She asks, opting the suspense.

"Tada!" She exclaimed as it came to a stop. Landing on 'obstacle race'.

"So it's going to be an obstacle course..." Midoriya says to himself, concluding the obvious...

"All 11 classes will participate in this treacherous contest. The track is 4 kilometers outside of the stadium." She begins to explain.

"I don't want to restrain anyone; at least... not in this game." She says, licking her lips in both a seductive and sadistic manner. "As long as you don't leave the course, you're free to do whatever your heart desires!!"

"Now then, take your place, contestants!" Midnight told us, as a gateway lit up, indicating that it was the starting line. No one hesitated to make their way towards the gate. All trying to make their way towards the front, thinking they'd get the advantage.

But the thing is, the closer you are to the front and middle, the more likely you are to get literally wedged between the walls of the tunnel and the flock of students. Getting crushed and squeezed, leaving you with little movement, being pushed and shoved, trying to break through.

If you have a quirk that can get you out of those situations, then you're golden. If not, then you're just drawing at straws. So you know what, I'll stay at the back.
