Watching my acceptance letter to UA seemed like a distant memory. Before I knew it, time had warped, it came in a blink of an eye, in the snapping of my fingers. Now here I am, standing in front of the huge building that they call UA high school. I'm dressed in my UA uniform, with a pair of gloves accompanying me.
After my moment of hesitation, I grip the straps of my backpack, walking with my head held high. My dark red eyes trained on the path ahead of me, not once making eye contact with anyone.
Seeing as today was going to be orientation and fact there was going to be an assembly, there was no need for me to bring my backpack with me to class. However, I do decide to bring a book to read in order to pass the time.
As I am walking through the halls, I tune out all the nonsense that is being said and done in the hallways as I looked for my classroom. These people chatter amongst themselves but have nothing important to talk about. As usual. It's only been 3 months since we all finished junior high, you're telling me not once did you or your friends call each other nor hang out during that duration? Or hug really big and squeal obnoxiously loud about how you missed each other. Gag me. I sensed so many presences at UA, it was kind of overwhelming, and it made me want to puke.
Intermission: Some stuff about my quirk. As you know from my file, I have elemental powers I guess. And that means that I am somehow connected to all four elements. Meaning I can feel each and every one of them AND when someone is using them. That stuff I talked about feeling presence? Yeah, that comes with the air aspect of my quirk. Since every living being is connected to the air, I can feel every one of them, sometimes it gets overwhelming, and it always brings nausea to my brain. But with time I had learned to ignore it. But most beings walk on the earth, so I can of course feel that too. I can also feel when someone is using fire or drinking water. So those are some side effects of my quirk. Now, back to my story
Really, day one, not even 5 minutes in, and we already have people arguing? I take a deep yet subtle breath, I pray that no one from my past junior high share the same class as I do.
I saw the two males who were arguing, ash blond with spikey hair and sharp crimson eyes, dammit, they kind of resembled mine. The ash blonde has his feet on his desk and a taller male with short dark blue hair and glasses was yelling at him.
The majority of the class was male. From what Aunt Midnight told me, class 1-A is the only one with 21 students. Doing an unnoticeable scan of the classroom, I am currently the 6th female here, while there are currently 13 males. Great, just great.
I remain dead silent, holding the small book to my chest. Reminding myself to keep my head high as I make my way toward an empty seat in the back. I could feel eyes trained on me the entire time I walked. The single lonely desk that sat alone and secluded from the others that were 4 columns by 5 rows. I could hear the whispers as I open my book and begin to read.
'Was she there during the exams? I don't remember seeing her there.'
'Maybe she was one of the few that were recommended?'
'She's really pretty, it's almost inhumane.'
'I wonder if she's single
First of all, ew. Second of all, people should really be minding their own business. It's getting rather annoying.
There are a lot of strong people in this class though. I can feel it. And now those two are back to arguing. It's times like this I wish I had a quirk that could adjust my hearing. How amazing would it be to turn your auditory functions to 0%? A girl could finally read or write in peach. I could dream.
The tall guy suddenly had a calmer look on his face, probably hoping to address this matter more maturely and in hopes that the new approach would appeal to the blond's better nature... If he had one.
"Let's start over. I am Tenya Iida, from the Somei Private Academy-"
"Somei, huh!?" The blonde rather annoyingly cut off. "So you must think you're better than me! I'm going to have fun tearing you a new one!"
What a hothead...
Tenya was rather shocked by this. Gasping, ever. It made me want to laugh. "You would threaten me? Your own classmate? Are you sure you're in the right place?" Tenya asked the blonde, completely stupefied.
Well, there had to be at least one hotheaded bully in the class... But I see where Tenya is going with this, this kid gives off some serious villainous vibes. But I guess I can't say anything considering I too...
The blonde scoffed but then turned his head towards the door, Tenya doing the same right after. There at the door stood a short boy, his round face framed by a short messy fluff of dark green hair which sticks up at off angles around his head. His eyes are large and somewhat circular, their irises the same green color as his hair.
"It's him." Those two spoken words by Tenya had everyone suddenly looking at the door.
The boy mustn't be used to attention, because as soon as everyone's eyes turned to him, he made sure to look anywhere that wasn't the group of teens that he will not he calling his classmates. He looked like he was under so much pressure, a light blush on his face as he began to speak nervously.
"Uh hi!" God, he's such an innocent cinnamon roll.
"Good morning!" Tenya began marching over to the short green haired boy. "My name is Tenya Iida fron the-"
"U-uh yeah, I know." The boy cut off, not meaning any disrespect, unlike that explosive blonde. "I-I'm Izuku Midoriya, it's super nice to meet you."
"Midoriya... you realized that there was something more to the practical exam, didn't you?" Izuku looked quite taken aback by the question, either cause he didn't expect it, or because he didn't have a clue and luck was just on his side.
"You must be very perceptive. And I completely misjudged you. I admit, as a student, you are far superior to me." With the way he's sweating, I really doubt he thinks that's the case, Tenya.
There was another person approaching, I can feel their presence. And soon followed by that presence was a perky feminine voice. "Hey, I recognize that messed up hair! Falling boy!"
Ah, so he's the one who got in due to the rescue points alone while defeating a 0-pointer robot during the practical parts of the exam. Broke his right arm and both legs in the process... Such power and destructive quirk in a body like his? I'm surprised the rest of his body didn't shatter along with it. But hey, there's more than meets the eye, I suppose.
She started going on about how amazing his punch was, while he became a fire hydrant, rambling on and on, he was a nervous wreck. It annoyed me.
"So what do you think our teachers are going to be like!? I can't wait to meet everybody!!" Someone must have eaten a bowl of rainbows and sunshine for breakfast because she is way too perky.
But as she spoke, I felt another strong presence. It had to be our teacher.
"If you're just here to make friends, you can pack your stuff right now." Said a gruff voice.
Sunshine and broccoli stick looked down nervously at the floor outside the door. Staring at whatever creature lay there.
"Welcome to U.A.'s hero course." I hear the sound of a zipper and then the sound of what I believe to be some kind of juice box crushing as the male drinks.
Whoever it was now stood up at the door, the man appearing to be in a sleeping bag. His eyes expressed that he would rather be somewhere, anywhere else than here.
"Time is precious. Rational students would understand that." He's a slender and tall pale-skinned man with messy, shoulder-length black hair that partially hangs in front of his face and often half-opened black eyes. He looks extremely tired.
"Hello, I am Shota Aizawa. Your teacher." He expressed monotonously. "Right, let's get to it. Put these on and go outside." He said pulling out what I'll assume to be our new gym uniforms.
If he's making us do this, I highly doubt he's just any normal teacher, nor are we going to that assembly for orientation.
