~~~~~Mellon's POV~~~~~
I was just about to undress when I heard the air lock open.
"Earth, is that you?" I called out, opening the bathroom door.
Suddenly the water from the shower began to splash and gush all over the place, getting all over me and freezing into my skin. I fell covered in ice, frozen stiff. Then Earth came in with the water still going crazy, he ran back out terrified. More and more water got on me, soon I was fully covered in ice and unconscious.
~~~~~Earth's POV~~~~~

I heard her scream in the room when she opened the door. I ran over to check on her, I walked into the room and icy water was splashing all over the place, some of the water got on me, I saw her on the floor completely frozen and motionless. Scared to death I ran back out and took cover behind the wall.

I began to pick at the shards of ice off my skin, but they were stuck. I needed to go back in there and save her before she became permanently frozen like my family did. I took a deep breath and dashed back in, I grabbed her by the arms and dragged her out of there. I closed the door to the room so that the water wouldn't get out.

She was shivering uncontrollably. I began to desperately scratch the ice off of her with my claws. But then it stuck to my hands. The cold was to painful to bare. I ran outside and looked for a plant to use. The blinding light from the sun made it very hard to see. I picked one up and brought it back inside. I noticed that the air lock had been left open since I first walked in.

It's was my fault she was frozen, I should have closed the air lock behind me. What have I done?

"E-Earth..." She moaned.

I bit open the plant, and sprayed the hot air that came from it all over her. Most of the ice came off but not all of it. I began to panic, that was the only plant in the area. I looked around for anything that would help. Then I found more plants in containers. I took one and rushed over to her.

But I couldn't open it, I didn't know how. Suddenly from the corner of my eye I saw something come down from the sky. It was her friends I bet. Maybe they could help. I picked her up, but the ice she was covered in froze to my chest. I dropped her before she stuck to me.

I began to pace back and forth trying to think of a plan. That ice will kill her if I didn't get it off in time. Suddenly I got an idea. I grew tall enough for my head to touch the ceiling and scooped her up in my hands. I picked up some plants in containers and headed out side.

The light caught me off guard and I shut my eyes tight.

"Hurry Mell!" yelled one of the humans.

I stumbled towards their ship trying to resist the blinding light. But I couldn't take it. I tossed her, and the plants to her friend. I quickly turned away from the light, burying my face in my hands.

"Thank you!" Her friend yelled.

I knew I would never see her again. I just hoped she would explain to her people that mine just wan't peace and an alli. I began to run back home. I missed her already...

~~~~~Joe's POV~~~~~
I caught Mell in my arms as she slowly flew threw the shuttle's
doors. She was covered in ice and shivering. I quickly shut the doors once I got the plants, and the shuttle took off automatically. I got some blankets and covered her in them.
"I got ya, I got ya." I whispered to her.
I could feel her struggling to move, as I held her in my lap. I wrapped my arms around her to give her more warmth, but she was as cold as frozen CO2. I carried her to the air condition vent and turned up the heat all the way.
I sat next to her, waiting for her to say something to me.
"Mell... please be alright." I begged. "I love you... I don't know what I would do without you...If I could I will switch places with you without a moment to think."
My eyes began to water up, I couldn't stand seeing her in pain. It broke my heart. The ice was slowly melting off of her. I layed next to her, and uncovered her face, her eyes were frozen shut. I picked the ice off her eyelids.
"Mell...?"
She struggled to pull her hand out of the blanket. She put her cold hand on my cheek.
"J-J-Joe..." she shivered through her words.
I took her hand off my face and held it in my hand. I pulled the black box out of my pocket and showed it to her. Her eyes widened but her expression was still frozen plain. I opened the box.
"Marry me...?" I asked.
She reached for the ring and slid her finger into it. I kissed her on the forehead and wrapped my arms around her. I felt her bury her head into my chest. I fell asleep with her in my arms. That was all I wanted, for her to be in my arms, for her to be safe, for her to say yes...
