"Lead the way, Dimples." We were all going to the lake we discovered earlier for a swim. It was about a twenty minute walk that felt way longer with Connor constantly asking 'Are we there yet?'
Everyone's eyes widened at the sight of the lake. It was a big blue lake surrounded by forest except for a field on the right that was surrounded by a fence probably for some kind of animal. Lucas was straight in there. Nobody moved so I followed cannon balling in. By the time I reached the surface it was only Blake and Sophia waiting at the edge. I could tell she was urging him to go in but he refused. So they both just sat down. Total party-poopers.
The water was a lot warmer than earlier. "Hey Holly," Stella said as she climbed out of the water. I swam over and climbed out too. She had a mischievous look in her eyes. I was honestly worried. "Look," She pointed to a rope attached to a giant tree branch.
My eyes lit up, "No way." I ran up to the rope, there was a knot at the bottom, it seems safe.
"After you," Stella smirked.
Grinning I climbed up onto a big rock and pulled the rope back, "You just want to see if I die."
"Better you than me. I have my Instagram followers I need to think about." I laughed. I gripped the rope above my head and jumped off the rock. A scream escaped my mouth as I flew into the air, I felt a rush of adrenaline. I was flying. "YET GO!" Stella yelled from behind me and I released my grip on the rope, freefalling to the water. I curled up in a ball and hit the water with a bang. When I resurfaced everyone was cheering.
Stella followed my lead and screamed, "I'm friking Tarzan!" before letting go and falling to the water.
All the Boys were hurrying over to the rope to have a go. I climbed out to follow them when Blake pulled me over. "Come meet Sophia."
I tried to escape but he had a tight grip on my arm, "I told you I want to make a good first impression. Meeting her in my swimming costume is not what I call a good first impression."
He dragged me towards her, "She won't care."
"But I care. It's important to me that she likes me."
Blake stopped. He sighed, "I promise she will like you and if she doesn't it's her loss. You will still be one of my best friends even if she thinks you're a phsyco bitch on your way to the crazy hospital." A smile spread across my face. "Anyway isn't the girlfriend supposed to be the one trying to impress the best friend?"
I sighed, "Ok, let's do this."
We walked over to Sophia who was sat cross-legged beside the lake. Blake sat down next to her and encouraged me to sit as well. "Sophia, this is Holly. Holly, this is Sophia." Up close she looked almost like she could be Blake's sister, in a way it was kind of creepy. They both had olive skin, big brown eyes and dark brown hair. So, they looked more like distant cousins but definitely related. I'm going to look that up on Ancestry when I get home.
Sophia smiled at me. She's really pretty, I'll give her that. "Hi Holly, I've heard so much about you." She said pushing her long silky hair behind her shoulder. I honestly wish I could say the same.
I returned the smile but didn't really know what to say to her. "Holly has just moved here from England." Blake informed Sophia, "Sophia has some family in England, but she is originally from Mexico." He informed me. This was just awkward.
"You can go for a swim now babe," Sophia said, obviously trying to get rid of Blake. He looked sceptical but did as she suggested anyway.
"So do you speak Spanish?" I asked trying to start a conversation. She nodded. This conversation was going nowhere. I turned around to see if I could call Blake back and make him help me but I saw he was having a turn on the swinging rope. However he'd forgotten to let go when he was over the water, "Oh my God. What is he doing?"
