1.01 The Move

Kate did not expect a huge welcome to her new house. But Avery defiantly made it bigger than it was suppose to be. All it was Kate and her family moving to a new continent for her dad's work. When Kate opened the door because she heard a knock and opened it to her new ginger neighbor, she knew that it was trouble.

"OH MY GOD! HI! I'm Avery!" She pulled Kate in a hug.

"Uh..." Kate muffled out of her breath and Avery let go of her.

Avery smiled after she let Kate out of her grasp, "You are?"

"I'm Kate," Katie replied with her name, "I just moved her from Flordia."

"Oh so you are an American girl?" Avery smirked.

Kate shook her head and spoke with sarcastic, "Nope. I totally don't have an American accent."

"Ah you are the sarcastic type," she smiled, "So do you wanna hang out?"

Kate replied, "Uh, I'm kind of-"

"No," Kate turned to find the voice belonged to her mother, "Kitty Cat we can take care of it. Go have fun, make friends."

Kate looked back at Avery after rolling her eyes at her mom for calling her 'Kitty Cat , "Anything to get me out of unpacking."

"Have fun!" Her mom shouted as Kate closed the door behind Avery and her.

Avery asked, "So I was thinking of going to Rikki's."

"Is Rikki a friend of yours?" Kate questioned back.

Avery giggled, "No! No! It's a café. I meet my friend, Jamie there all the time. Maybe I can ask her to meet us there. You can make another friend!"

"Yay! Another person to embarrass myself in front of," Kate rolled her eyes.

Avery yelled, "Come on! Don't be so negative!"

"Okay fine," Kate grunted and watched Avery take out her phone.

She clicked on her phone screen and held it against her ear.

"Hey, Jamie, can you meet up at Rikki's?" She asked into the phone.

Kate fiddled with her fingers, patiently waiting for Jamie.

Avery noticed and started a conversation, "So did you like Florida?"

"Yeah it was cool but Australia seems fun," Kate shrugged as a blonde ran towards them. She pushed Avery to make room for her.

"So I guess we have a new girl to put in our group," the blonde took out her hand for Kate to shake, "I'm Jamie."

Kate shook the hand, "What group?"

Avery rolled her eyes, "Jamie calls us the Outcast Group. Me, her and Luke."

"Who is this Luke?" Kate asked.

"Hey guys!" An unknown voice screamed.

The girls turned to find a boy with obsidian, black hair with a red hoodie running towards them.

"Speaking of the devil," Jamie laughed.

Kate scooted over, to make space for him.

"Hey who is this?" He pointed at Kate but faced to Jamie and Avery.

Kate rolled her eyes, "I'm totally not here."

"She is the new edition to our team," Avery laughed, "In Jamie's perspective."

"The name is Kate," Kate told him as he stopped pointing at her, "Anyway why were you giddy as a school girl?"

"Well he fangirls over anything scienceize," Avery chuckled, "Spill the beans, Lukie."

Luke smiled, "So you know how we are learning about the ocean in Mr. McCartney's class? And we have that huge test. I was thinking that we could study is go out to the ocean and swim with the animals we have to study about."

"Sorry to burst your bubble Luke," Jamie laughed, "But where are we going to find aquatic, sea creatures?"

He took a breath before he spoke, "Mako Island."

"Mako Island! Are you mad?!" Jamie yelled at him.

"What is so bad about Mako Island?" Kate asked.

Avery shuddered, "Sharks, eels, crabs!"

"Oh my!" Jamie giggled.

"Wow. You are sounding like their monsters of the night, coming out of your bed to kill you," Kate chuckled with Jamie.

Luke spoke directly to Avery, "Well those are the animals we are studying."

He turned to Kate, "You can come too!"

"Um...Sure, a free tour of Australia!" Kate smiled as everyone got out of their seats.

"Maybe we sleepover on the island!" Jamie suggested.

Avery sighed with a yelled tone, "NO!"

"Come on, Avery, don't be a scary cat," Kate encouraged her.

Luke smirked at Avery, trying to convince her.

"Fine!" She sighed as Luke and Kate high fived each other.

Jamie threw up her fist, "Lets go!"

The group exited out of the café. Kate opened the door and felt a force against her. She looked down to find a pile of books and papers scattered.

"Oops sorry," she quickly kneeled down next to the papers.

She gathered the papers and books and handed to the person she knocked the items out of their grasp. Kate looked up at the person. It was a boy. He smiled at her as she tried to breathe for air.

"Thanks," he beamed.

"Come on!" She heard Avery shouted for her.

Kate smiled at the boy, "Anytime."

She stood up and ran towards the group.

"So lets meet at the pier near my house at 4," Avery talked.

Luke nodded, "Bring a sleeping bag and dinner."

Kate rose up her thumb, "Great! See you guys soon!"

The group divided their separate ways but Avery and Kate stuck together.

"I hate you for getting me into this," Avery groaned.

Kate threw up her hands, like she was getting arrested, "Hey it is your fault for knocking on my door and inviting me."
