1.04 The Locket
I dedicate this to @WritersDreamFanfics for surviving the first episode of the Anime H2O: Mermaid Adventures
Kate woke up to the sound of her alarm clock. She groaned and pulled the pillow over her head.
5:45, in the morning, on Monday.
She wanted to get her a morning swim before her stressful, first day of school. Kate walked over to her closest and found her clothes. She had to choose wisely. Kate picked out ripped, jean, shorts. But she had a hard time to decide on her shirt. She smirked at the shirt she picked. Kate got dressed and ran down the stairs to the kitchen. She grabbed an apple from the fridge and carried her backpack on her shoulder. Kate started to eat the apple while she walked to the dock. Her parents weren't worried about her. She told that this would be the normal routine for school days. Wake up early, go to the beach and go to school. Once she got there, all that was left of the apple were the seeds. She left her backpack on the dock. Kate looked around for a moment to see if anyone was around her. No one was in sight. She dove into the water. Kate waited in the water before bubbles surrounding her. She felt a weird feeling in her feet. Kate faced the same golden, tail she encountered yesterday. She smiled at it and started to swim. Swimming to Mako wasn't that hard and didn't take long. When she got to the reef, near the island, she stopped swimming like she was racing. She started to gaze at the fish and the different aquatic life. It was magical. Kate noticed a huge hole in a rock, wall. It was the hole that they escaped the pool. She swam through it, against the sand surface. The sunlight shined through the water. Something else was shining in the sand. Kate swam closer to it. She picked it up. It was a locket. Kate smiled at it. It was something else to add to her first day of school outfit.

"Hey guys! Wait up!" Kate ran towards her gang.
They all turned in her direction.
"Hey Ariel," Jamie laughed at Kate's Little Mermaid shirt.
Avery giggled, "I thought I was Ariel."
Luke noticed something dangling from Kate's neck, "Hey what's that?"
"A locket. I found it at the bottom of the pool in a morning swim this morning," Kate spoke as they begun to walk.
Avery smiled, "It's cute. Goes well with your outfit."
"Now what class do you guys have first?" Kate looked at her schedule then at the others.
Luke answered, "We all have Biology with Mr. McCartney."
"Yeah me too," she smiled as the bell rang.
"Well we better get there," Jamie smirked and ran to one of the classrooms.
Avery, Kate and Luke followed Jamie into the classroom. Jamie, Avery and Luke sat in their seats. Kate handed Mc. McCartney her slip.
"Ahh. New student," he smiled, "Welcome!"
He looked really young to be a teacher. Probably around 23. He had light, blonde hair and glasses on.
"You can seat next to Ms. Lawson," he pointed to Avery who waved with both of her hands.
She smiled and sat next to her friend.
"This is so cool!" Avery whispered.
Mr. McCartney yelled, "Okay, you can take the whole class for the test."
He started to pass out papers. Once, he got to Avery and Kate's seat, he started to stare at something. It had been Kate's locket. She stared at her locket as he got out of trance and handed Avery, her test.
"Did you see what just happened?" Kate whispered to Avery.
Avery said, "Yeah, you found that in the pool right?"
Kate begun to say, "Yea-"
"Ms. Damon and Ms. Lawson, no talking!" The teacher screamed.
Avery went back to her quiz as Kate grabbed a book and started to read. Luke of course finished in about ten minutes because he is a nerd, in Kate's view. Jamie finished ten minutes after. Through the class period, the teacher kept looking up at her. She ignored it. Thoughts going through her mind, wondering what he knew. Avery finished one minute before the bell rang. Kate ran out of the classroom quickly. She didn't want to face him. But not facing him came with karma. She smacked into someone, coming into the classroom. Books landed to the ground. This reminded her of something. She looked up at the person she bumped into. It had been the boy she bumped into at Rikki's.
"We need to stop meeting like this," Kate chuckled as she kneeled down to get his books.
He replied "Agreed."
She handed him the books that she picked up.
"I'm Ash," he smiled, "Ash Watsford."
She beamed back, "Kate Damon."
"So you new?" he asked.
She nodded, "Yep."
Jamie tapped her on the shoulder, signaling her to get to her next class.
"I got to go," she ran to Jamie but still facing him, "I'll see you later."
He held books in one arm and waved with the other. She smiled at him but then turned to Jamie.
"I think we have found your Prince Eric," Jamie smirked.
Kate rolled her eyes and shoved Jamie's shoulder, "Come on!"
