1.08 Popcorn for Lunch
Avery was invited by Kate to travel to the Marine Park. Jamie was also invited. Kate's father wanted his daughter to visit his work. Kate invited them to the park, just in case something happened. They entered the park. Kate's dad greeted them.
"Okay so around park," he smiled, "Explore."
They nodded as he added, "Meet here around 12. I want to show you."
He walked away as Kate bickered, "Hey do you guys want to get some food, I'm starving."
"Sure!" Avery nodded as they walked in direction of the stand.
Jamie started a conversation, "So how is school, Kate?"
"Everything is going well," she nodded and put her hands in her pocket, "Well besides the whole teacher mermaid thing."
Avery replied, "Oh yeah. Do you think he noticed?"
"He would have confronted us at school about it by now," Jamie answered.
Kate nodded, "Or maybe he is staying low before BAM!"
"So theatrical," Jamie smirked.
Kate rolled her eyes, "Come on, let's get in line."
They stood in the back of a straight line, ready to order food.
"Ugh so how are your powers going?" Avery sparked up a conversation.
Kate smiled, "Going great! It is so cool to have water bubbles fly into your mouth."
Jamie continued, "Boiling up spaghetti, easy as 123."
"Well I have made a frozen juice pop," Avery smiled as the line moved up.
"Hey guys," a familiar voice said behind them.
They all turned to find Luke, wearing one of his classic sweatshirts.
"Luke! What are you doing here?" Kate asked.
He rolled his eyes, "I'm a part of this friendship too."
"He is right," Avery smiled, "But how did you know were here?"
His teeth grunted and Kate eyes widen, "You stalked us?"
"I was worried," he shrugged.
Jamie patted him on the back, "It's okay, stalker boy, you can join us for today but no geeky stuff about aquatic animals."
"Deal," he nodded.
The line moved up a little more. Once they finally got there to the stand and ordered their food. Kate ordered a slice of pizza, Jamie ordered a hot dog, Luke a hamburger and Avery ordered popcorn.
"For lunch?" Kate questioned as the person at the stand went to get the food.
Avery nodded with a smile.
"One time, she brought cake for lunch, only cake," Jamie replied.
Avery lied, "I was five years old!"
"Uh no that was last year," Jamie corrected her.
The server brought back the food. They sat down at table and started to eat. Jamie started to tell jokes and everyone replied with a laugh. Avery had never had any so much fun in her life. It was beginning to be the best day ever.

It was time to meet Kate's father and Avery was wondering what was going to happen next. They walked up to find him with a girl. She was young probably in her 20's. Her hair was light brunette, straight in a pony tail. She wore the bright blue uniform.
Kate's father was about to introduce her to the group but he noticed Luke, "You are?"
"I'm Luke, I'm friends with them," he introduced himself to Kate's father, "I saw them in the park and we hung out."
He approved of Luke after taking a look at him.
Then he finally introduced her, "Guys, this is Cleo."
She smiled and waved, "I'm the assistant dolphin trainer."
"That is so cool," Avery fangirled and jumped up and down.
It was not a good idea to jump up and down. The locket came out of her shirt and jumped with her. Cleo noticed the locket and her expression was like she recognized it.
"Well let's go see the dolphin," Kate's dad became the leader and lead the group.
Cleo went up to Avery, "Hey...um where did you get that necklace it is very....pretty."
"Uh, I found it on the beach," she smiled with a lie, "Cool right?"
She nodded slowly as she walked past Avery.
Jamie whispered, "Do you think she is...."
"She is working here," Kate replied, "This isn't a safe place for, you know."
Avery nodded and they followed Cleo and Kate's dad to behind the park. Cleo unlocked the gate and everyone entered into the small area. There was a wooden walkway to a pool. Something was swimming in it. It was a dolphin. Avery gushed over it as they walked down the walkway. The girls were very careful. They stood far behind Cleo and Kate's father. Next to Cleo, were gloves. Cleo grabbed abd put them on.
"That is smart," Kate whispered to the group.
They nodded in response.
"I'm going to get some fish," Kate's father walked up the walkway and exited the area.
Cleo stood up and crossed her arms, "So is that really where you got that necklace?"
Avery nodded with her classic smile, "Yes. I'm telling the truth."
"Yeah, we saw her pick it up," Kate helped with the lie.
Cleo asked, "Are there any others?"
Jamie shook her head and added more to the lie.
Kate's father came back and spoke, "Is everything okay?"
"Yep," Cleo nodded, "Everything is okay."
