2.04 Secrets

Avery laid on her bed. She was studying for the math test tomorrow. Soon her phone rang the sound of bells singing.

"Hi it's Avery," she smiled into her cell phone but yawned, "Who is it?"

Heavily breathing replied.

"Excuse me?" Avery asked.

"Avery," Kate's voice cried.

For the past month, Avery had never heard Kate cried. She was always strong and confident.

Avery stood up quickly from her bed, "Kate? Oh my god, are you okay?"

"Avery, I screwed up so much," Kate sobbed, "Ugh. I had to suggest him going diving."

"Who? Wait what?" Avery asked into the phone.

Kate questioned, "Can you meet me at my house? I asked Jamie and Luke too."

Avery nodded and started to walk out the door, "Okay! I'll see you there!"

She ran as fast as she could. Avery got there in ten minutes. Her ponytail jumping in the back. She knocked on the door. It opened to Kate. Her eyes red but no tears.

"What happened?" She asked.

Kate answered, "I saved Ash."

"Then why are you crying?" Avery asked as she walked into the house.

"I saved him in the ocean," Kate jumped onto the couch and moaned.

Avery sat on the couch, next to Kate.

"So he was drowning and you saved him?" Jamie asked with her hands cross.

Kate answered, "Yes. It wasn't like I was going to let him drown."

"It's good that you didn't, he could have died," Avery wrapped around Kate's shoulder, "Maybe he didn't see your tail."

Kate shrugged, "I may just be over reacting."

"Well it's glad that you told us," Luke nodded, "At least he didn't see your face if he did see your tail."

Kate sighed, "But won't he connect our English story to it if he did. I mean I practically wrote every detail of the ocean."

They all stayed silent. Kate was right. Avery didn't want to agree with her but she did. If Ash did see her tail, he would probably connect it to the English. Hopefully he would be too dumb to notice. But he was smart.

"Let's just wait and see what happens," Jamie blurted out.

They all faced her.

"Go with the flow," she uncrossed her arms, "Watch what happens."
