1.06 The Research
I dedicate this to @BookMaster08 for just joining wattpad and also wanting to watch H2O.
Jamie took out the papers from the bag. The gang was sitting at a booth at Rikki's.
"So there was an old man who also researched Mako?" Luke asked.
Kate nodded, "He also knew about the costs of being at the moon pool on a full moon."
"Moon pool?" Avery asked.
"Yeah, it's a new name for the pool," Kate smiled, "You like it?"
Jamie nodded and watched as a waitress presented them with their drinks.
"Thank you," Avery smiled at her.
The waitress nodded, "Anytime."
But then, the waitress took interested in what Jamie was holding.
"Where did you get that?" She asked.
Jamie stuffed it back in the bag, "We found it in this thrift store."
"Thrift store sells old papers?" the waitress asked.
Kate looked up with her for a moment before smiling, "Yep."
Jamie was so glad that Kate took of her evidence of tucking the locket under her shirt. They didn't want anyone else to find out about their secret.
The waitress nodded, "Okay well, enjoy your drinks!"
Jamie saw the waitress' nametag before she left.
"Her name is Rikki," Jamie whispered to the group.
Luke answered, "As in the restaurant's name?"
"That is no coincidence," Avery added in.
Kate sighed, "This mermaid thing is really complicated."
"Tell me about it," Jamie moaned.
Luke took the leather bag, "How about I take the research and look over it?"
"That's great," Avery smiled and scooted out of the booth.
Jamie and Kate followed behind. Kate and Avery walked out of the café but Jamie stood still. She watched as Luke gathered up everything and paid for the drinks.
"What are you still doing here?" He asked as he got out of the booth.
Jamie smiled, "I want to help!"

"So let me the scene," Jamie walked back and forth in Luke's room, "Mr. McCartney knew a mermaid, got information from this Max guy, something happened and the mermaid's locket was thrown in the water."
The papers were scattered on Luke's bed.
He nodded in response, "Yep."
"That is all we know," Jamie sighed, "That is so helpful."
Luke took clutch of one of the papers, "Hold up. Jamie you are going to find this cool!"
"What?" she ran and sat next to him on the bed.
He analyzed the paper and then spoke, "You guys have powers."
She took the paper from him, "What?!"
Jamie read it over. It was explaining something like papers. It was kind of like instructions.
"Well which one do I have?" She asked.
Luke shrugged, "Try out one of them."
He walked out of the room and came back with a glass, filled with water. Luke sat it on his bedside table. Jamie saw Luke nod his head, signaling her to try. The first one she tried was to freeze it. All you need to do is motion a stop to the class. She tried over and over again. Then she continued to moving water. The thing she needed to do was move her hand, with her fingers curled a little. This didn't work. She was getting worried. What if the other two and she didn't? The next one was to boil water. She had to slowly make a fist. Jamie followed the direction. To her eyes, the water started to bubble. Luke and her started to laugh.
"That is amazing," Jamie smiled, "I'll text Avery and Kate."
But before anyone could even move, there was a banging at the door.
"Who is it?" Luke asked.
A familiar voice replied, "It's Avery and it's important!"
Luke opened to find Avery.
"What is it?" He questioned as Jamie got up from her seat.
Avery took something from her pocket. It was Kate's locket.
"Why do you have Kate's locket?" Jamie spoke with a question.
Luke added, "Yeah what is so important about it."
"This isn't Kate's," Avery pointed to a minor detail of the locket, "Her has a blue gem on hers, this one is white."
Jamie begun,"You found it in the-"
"Moon pool yes," Avery answered.
Luke started to think outloud, "So that means..."
"Yeah," Avery breathed, "There was more than one mermaid."
