Final goodbyes
Sometimes you know when it is your final goodbye
Sometimes you may never know
Sometimes you just fade away and goodbye is subtle
Sometimes goodbye is abrupt and everything is gone all at once
Sometimes goodbye can be happy
Sometimes goodbye can be painful
And this goodbye
It's painful
This is the goodbye I'm dreading
I anticipate it,
I'm scared for the day it's true
Because I know this goodbye, it's a final goodbye.
One where I know I may never see you again,
one where I know I will slowly fade into nothing.
Whereas you, you will continue in my memory.
You will be in my thoughts,
your advice always catching up to me.
This will be a final, abrupt, painful goodbye.
One where I fade away, and you will stay
One that will leave me broken and you will be fine
because in your life, I don't matter.
In my life you're the only one who truly knows me.
And soon in the blink of an eye it will all be gone.
In our last and final goodbye.
