Growing up
It happens to all of us
Everyone congratulates you
Telling you that freedom is just around the corner
What they don't tell you about is the people you lose along the way
Suddenly everyone is busy
Suddenly everyone can't text back
Suddenly everyone forgets who you are
Suddenly you don't matter
Then you're left alone
Alone to figure out what's next
Alone while everything you once knew changes
Wishing for the days when your friends cared
Wishing that maybe one day you can find someone who cares
Someone who wants to stay
Someone who wants to talk
Someone who makes you matter
But until then you're left
Wishing maybe someone will care.
