(Y/n is Steve's younger sister this is set during s3 summer break)

It was the beginning of summer break, max and y/n had gotten close since the events of last Halloween. Y/n was at home watching a movie on the couch wrapped up in blankets. She hears the kitchen phone ring but decides to ignore it. It rings again. This better be good y/n thinks to herself.

"Hello Harringtons household"

"Y/n it's max"

"Max! I'm sorry I didn't answer I just thought it was sales people"

"Uhm it's fine, il come to yours at 7"

"What? I don't remember having something planned, is everything okay?"

"Yeah fine just make sure your ready"

"Okay by-" y/n says but max had already hung up, a common problem of Max's. She threw on a hoodie max let her borrow, some jeans and her favourite copper coloured vans. The clock hit 7 and max showed up on her skateboard, wearing a sunset coloured striped shirt, jeans and her matching vans. She heard Max ring the doorbell but before y/n could get to the door, Steve opened it.

"Max? What are you doing here?" Steve asked.

"Oh uh i'm meeting y/n, is she here?" Max questioned.

"Yeah il to grab her wait here" Steve says walking to y/n's room knocking on the door.

"Hey uh max is here" he says opening the door.

"Great" y/n grabs her backpack and skateboard before running down the stairs. As soon as she saw max she hugged her tightly gently placing her arm round the back of her neck and back, pulling away to speak to max.

"I've missed you max" y/n said with a smile looking into Max's frosted blue eyes.

"It's only been 2 days" max laughs.

"So.. where are we going" y/n asks.

"Just follow me you'll see" max says turning and picking her skateboard up.

"BYE STEVE" y/n shouts to Steve who is leaning on the banister from the upstairs hall.

"Don't be back too late okay, oh and max make sure she doesn't do anything stupid" Steve states with his hands on his hips.

"Il make sure of it" max reassures. Both girls walk onto the street with their skateboards y/n trailing behind max curious about where they're going. Once they finally arrived max grabbed her skateboard and y/n's hand dragging her inside.

"No way the hideaway I thought this place closed down years ago!" Y/n excitingly asked.

"It's still open and it's going to be the best spot for our first date" max says looking at y/n with a smile.

"Date?" Y/n asks.

"Yep, come on let's order" max giggles before dragging y/n inside, their hands still connected. Both girls sat down at a small booth in the corner of the diner looking at the menu until a waitress came over.

"Hey welcome to the hideaway, what can I get you?" The waitress asked politely.

"One chocolate and one strawberry milkshake please" max requested.

"Alright coming right up!" The waitress wrote down their orders and then walked into the kitchen leaving the two girls alone. They were the only customers but y/n liked it. The girls talked and joked around until the waitress came back with their milkshakes and two straws.

"Enjoy ladies" she said before walking off. Both girls enjoyed their milkshakes and sat there talking, enjoying being in each others presence.

"Can I try yours?" Max inquired.

"Yeah sure" y/n answers pushing her milkshake over towards max waiting for her to taste it. Without hesitation max placed her lips on y/n's straw and tasted her milkshake. Y/n sat up and watched max filled with anticipation. Max looked back up with a surprised look on her face.

"Mmm that's good, want to try mine?" Max asks before sliding her shake over.
Y/n took a sip out of Max's before making a sour face.

"Not bad but not good" y/n admitted.

"Oh come on it's not that bad" max giggled. Once the girls had finished they went to the counter to pay, max handed over the money which y/n didn't like, she insisted she'd pay but max wouldn't back down. Once y/n gave in they walked out skateboards in hand. It had already gotten dark and y/n knew her brother would be mad at her but she didn't care, she was with the person she loved most and that's all that mattered. Before going home the girls went to weathertop hill and layed on the daisy populated grass looking up into the sky.

"Max"

"Yeah?"

"Don't ever leave me"

"I can't , I won't " max emphasised turning her head to look at y/n who was still staring at the stars. The other turned her head to look into the redheads arctic blue eyes, hypnotised by them. Y/n didn't understand when people said you can get lost in someones eyes, now she understood, it's hard to look away when you love someone so much. Max laid her head on y/n's shoulder snuggling up to her before they both drifted asleep.
