THE GIRL LEANED back in her seat, swallowing the lump in her throat as she opened her mouth to speak.
"..I got a text from my mother last night, after I got dropped off at my apartment by Sunghoon. It feels like my past is haunting me." She admitted, holding her breath as she watched confusion and surprise strike across her friend's faces.
"I guess, it kinda took a toll on me..? I've spent so long trying to get over her, years and years of therapy. So, to hear from her again is upsetting, and I couldn't get myself to sleep after that." She continued, pursing her lips as her gaze shifted down to her fingers, which rested on top of the table.
"..how did she get your number?" Jake asked, confusion laced in his tone. Haneul shrugged, a sigh escaping her lips. "I'm not sure, she refused to tell me."
"And have you replied..?" Heeseung raised a brow, clasping his hands together as he stared at the girl in front of him intently.
"No, I haven't. I don't know what to say." She sighed, pursing her lips. "But she wants to meet me in person to talk about something."
"You aren't going, are you?" Heeseung furrowed his brows, to which the girl shrugged reluctantly. "I'm not sure yet."
"Do you want to go?"
"..I don't really think so. The thought of seeing her terrifies me, but I don't want to live my life in fear of seeing her forever." She sighed out, earning a hum from the boy.
"You shouldn't force yourself to go, Haneul. Only do it if you're comfortable and ready for it. You aren't obligated to meet up with her, and she should respect that. If she doesn't, then it proves she's not someone worth spending your time worrying about." The doe eyed boy spoke, as Jake nodded his head in agreement.
"Mhm. Give yourself time." Jake added on, as Haneul nodded her head slowly.
"I.. I want to go, I want to be able to prove to myself and her that I am capable enough to be able to see her in person, face to face." She stated, fidgeting with the hem of the pink colored sweatshirt she wore.
"But, are you absolutely positive that you are ready? I understand that it's a tough situation to go through." Jake tilted his head, crossing his arms over his chest.
