PUSHING THE DOOR open, she stepped inside the house with a sigh, feeling much warmer than she did compared to being outside, where it thundered lowly as rain pattered against everything it could reach.

The girl stood soaked in the saltiness of the rain water, shivering due to its temperature as she slipped off her wet shoes, leaving them by the front door.

Whilst she had taken the bus, she still had to walk the distance from the bus stop all the way back to the house -- much to her dismay due to the freezing cold rain.

Footsteps sounded throughout the house, growing closer until eventually, the familiar voice filled her ears.

"Haneul? My god.. where were you? I've been trying to contact you all day." Heeseung breathed out, rushing to the girl's side and wrapping his arms around her, much to his avail as she gently pushed him away.

"Don't, please. Your clothes will just get wet." She breathed out, shaking her head as she threaded her fingers through her damp hair.

"I was at the restaurant.. left earlier this morning. I'm sorry. I should've let you know, but I didn't. That was inconsiderate of me." The girl apologized, avoiding his gaze as she directed her eyes to the floor.

"..that's fine. But, you could've at least called me and let me drive you home. I mean, look at you.. you're soaked. You could get a cold, Haneul." The boy sighed, placing his hands on her shoulders before running his hands up and down her arms in an attempt at warming her up.

"I couldn't, Heeseung. my phone died hours ago, see? I never got the chance to charge it overnight because I fell asleep earlier than I intended to." She sniffled, wiping her nose with her wrist before holding up the phone -- of which flashed 0%.

The boy peered over at the screen, before averting his attention back to her as he nodded his head slowly, humming in understanding before letting out a sigh.

"Alright, I understand." He mumbled out, staring at her with eyes full of worry before dropping his arms back to his sides. Silence fell between them, nothing but the soft sound of the rain pattering against the ground outside filling their ears.
