Free At last (Free Rein)

Chapter 6

Y/n POV

I'm going on a date with Marcus today, I've gotta tell Zoe, and Becky. What am I going to wear? Why did he ask me on a date, what's wrong with him? He would never like me. I'm just gonna call Zoe and Becky, and Jade, get them over here.

Once I got Becky and Jade to come over, Zoe living with me already. We all gathered in my room, Becky freaking out, and jumping all over the place.

"So, do you wanna wear something fancy, or something cute." Jade asked 100% serious.

So, just to make this easier, I'm gonna do the first letter of their name for who's saying it, so J for Jade, B for Becky, Z for Zoe, I'm just gonna do Y/n.

Y/n "I want something that shows off me, but cute I guess"

B "Ok, so we have this, or this one. Take your pick." 

                                                                Or

Z "I think the second one is the way to go."

Y/n "I like your choice a lot."

J "Ok, so, what time is your date again?"

Y/n "11, and it's not a date."

B "It's totally a date."

Y/n "No, it's not."

Z "Well, it's almost 11, and it's totally a date, now, go get ready.'

Y/n "It's not though, by, I'll see you in a second."

I went and got changed then came out, hearing Becky's oohs and awhs as I walked out. 

Y/n  "Yeah, yeah"

J "It's almost 11, you better go."

Y/n "Yeah, thanks guys, I'll see you later, I guess"

"By" they all yelled in unison.

I started walking to the cafe, debating what I was going to say to Marcus. This is gonna be so awkward, I groaned and continued walking. 

When I get to the cafe I see Marcus already sitting at a table, staring out the window, looking for someone, probably me. When we locked eyes, he stood up and I started walking through the door, while he walked over to me.

"Hi" he awkwardly stated

"Hi" I laughed a little, he held out his arm for me, I took it and we started walking over to his table. It's still super awkward, but at least we're getting to know each other. 

"So, how long have you been riding horses?" I asked

"Since I started walking, my parents weren't around much, so Sam took care of me most of the time, and started me riding really young."

"Cool" I say in response

"Where are you from?"

"I'm originally from Maryland, but I ran away from my abusive family when I was 12. Then I ended up here." I answered.

"That's really young, I'm sorry you had to go through that" he looked at me pitifully, I hate when people look at me like that.

"Eh, I came to terms with it years ago." I said in response, very ignore the fact I completely lied.

"Oh, well" He tried to keep the conversation from getting darker.

"Anyway, now that we're done talking about my past, my turn to ask a question. What's your favorite color?" I'm so basic I know.

"Blue" he answers, it seems we are both very basic people "And..... What's your favorite color?"

"Y/f/c" told you "And..... uhm.... I ran out of questions." we both laughed, and I drank some of my Smoothie flavor smoothie.

"I guess we should find a new game." He continued to laugh. 

We did not find a new game, but we kept talking for hours. When it started to get late, he walked me home. When we got there we stopped outside the garden wall, we turned to each other.

"I had a great day with you." I looked into his sparkling eyes.

"Yeah" he started leaning in,but I pushed him away, he looked at me confused, I started speed walking into the house, a disappointed Marcus watching me. 

I'm sorry to disappoint him, but I've had relationships before, and if it moves too fast, it will end horribly.
