I will be posting chapters 30, 31 and epilogue on the same day next week para tuloy tuloy na ang feels hanggang dulo lol. Sorry I couldn't stretch this book more, but! But! I'm not closing my doors for the possibility of a sequel. Just like my other works, the focus of this one is just on a portion of our characters' lives, which means there is always a chance that a story for another portion will beg to be written.

Chapter 29: Live

"Wait lang. Maghihilamos lang ako!"

Nagmadali akong maghilamos at magbihis kahit na disoriented pa ang utak ko. I heard what happened but I am so lost as to why it happened and why it has to happen so early in the morning.

Plain black shirt lang at maong pants ang isinuot ko. Bumyahe kami agad papuntang Club Hotelier lulan ng sasakyan ni Nix.

But Lloyd... god, this idiot! Ito na ba ang Plan B na sinasabi niya? He practically shoved me off the boat! Kung nasa gitna kami ng karagatan, nalunod na ako at pinagpiyestahan ng mga pating.

I really shouldn't have joined hands with him. I rationalized my actions by thinking  it was all just a fair transaction, but the thing about transactions is that it doesn't equate to loyalty, especially when there is no written contract. The other party can just shove you when they feel like it.

"Mahina ba ang aircon, Ate? Pinagpapawisan ka, oh." Puna ni Nix.

"Ay wala 'to," I replied and wiped the cold sweat on my forehead kahit na habang papalapit kami ng papalapit sa Club Hotelier ay palakas ng palakas ang tibok ng puso ko.

I suddenly thought, ganito rin ba ang nararamdaman ni Sven tuwing sinusubukan niyang sabihin ang totoo sa mga kaibigan niya? You know it has to be done, and you know you can't avoid it forever, but you just feel your whole system reacting in strange ways.

After 15 more minutes, we arrived at the club. I could see the guard from where I was.

"Nix, can you wait for me here outside? Ako nalang ang papasok." Saad ko.

"Sasama ako, Ate. Baka ano pang mangyari dun sa loob."

"It's daytime, Nix, and there are other people in that club. Tatawag nalang ako kung kailangan ko ng tulong. O di kaya sisigaw nalang ako. Just stay here for now."

"Pinapakaba mo ako Ate, eh. But fine, I'll be on standby."

"Got it." Sabi ko at saka tumuloy na sa Club Hotelier.

Nasipatan ko agad si Lloyd sa loob, nasa tabi siya ng grand piano. He looked disheveled and in a bad way.

"Bakit ganiyan ang itsura mo? Nasaan si Sven?" Tanong ko.

"He already left." Inayos niya ang kaniyang collar. Was there a bloody fight?!

"Did he... do this to you?" I pointed at his appearance.

"We had a little... disagreement."

"Why did you do it? Hindi mo ba naisip dahil sa pagka desperado mo, that this could be a double edged sword?" I questioned. "If Serenity turns out to be pregnant, do you think she would want to tell you, after what you did? Sa tingin mo hahayaan ka pa niyang maging ama sa anak niyo?"

"You asked me why I did it but did you even ask me if I was the one who did it?" He said.

"Was it not you, then?" Nagtaas ako ng kilay. Because I can't think of any other.
