Cross stared at his clock waiting and watching silently. He felt his soul skip a beat when it beep, signaling that it was 6 in the morning.

Cross quickly jumps out of bed and hastily throws on his clothes. He runs out of his house and down the street coming to a house.

He stops in the shadows and smiles upon seeing a monster just leaving the house, waving goodbye to someone. He was on time, like always.

The beautiful god of a monster he was watching was the light of his life, Dream.

Dream was a skeleton monster who often wore yellow and worked at a coffee shop less than a mile away.

He looked just as beautiful like every day. Dream wore his work outfit, it looked nice and great on him but Cross knew Dream would look better in his shirts. Dream wore light yellow makeup that complimented his golden eye lights.

Cross was very excited today because he had gotten Dream the necklace he eyed every day on his way to and from work. He left a note attached to the golden-wrapped box. It read 'It will look beautiful on you, yellow truly is your color -Love X'.

Cross's soul began to race as Dream noticed the small gift on the ground. Dream picked it up examining it, he looked around to see if anyone was around.

After searching for who could've left it, he silently read the note before opening the box. He looked confused, but that was quickly replaced by a smile upon seeing the necklace. Dream was quick to put on the necklace.

Cross felt his face heat up, Dream actually accepted his gift. And he couldn't look more beautiful in it.

Once Dream makes sure it looks good he begins to walk to work, and Cross follows from a distance.

Once Dream got inside Cross followed inside after a moment, there were a few people inside like always.

Cross took a seat at the corner of the shop, where he always sat watching Dream. It was the perfect spot because he could see everything.

Dream clocked in with a huge smile and he begins to talk to his coworkers Ink and Blue.

Cross hated them, he was sure they were trying to steal Dream away from him.

Dream worked the cash register, Dream could put a smile on anyone's face. He did that daily, Dream was magical like that.

Dream was so kind and soft-hearted, but that also meant he was vulnerable. It was Cross's job to make sure he wasn't hurt or taken advantage of, and Cross loved his job.

He loved protecting and watching his soulmate.

Dream always was tired after a long day of work but it never changed his happy-go-lucky personality.

Cross followed him home making sure he was safe. Cross smiles as Dream walked into his house.

Cross followed him up the porch and looked in through the window.

Dream was sitting on the couch taking off his shoes and talking to his brother Nightmare who was setting the table up for dinner.

"Goodnight Dream." He whispered to himself.

One day he would actually tell Dream that, every night. For the rest of his life.
