-reader's pov-
"where is she?!" I yelled, bursting into the police station where I knew grail would be located at.
I got no answer in response, meaning that grail was already in pursuit of taking enola to prison.
I had no clue where to go or what to do. even if I went looking for enola, where was this prison?? there was no longer a way to get in contact with her, or anyone I knew for that matter.
I groaned aloud to myself, in the empty lobby of the station. what was I going to do? what could I do?
I was lost until I remembered about tewkesbury, he said he was a friend of enola's. maybe he'd know something, but how could I ever find him. he could be anywhere in london.
I searched my memory for any trace of him until I faintly remembered seeing his name mentioned in a newspaper. retracing my memory even more, I recalled his name being under some sort of court place. meaning he must live somewhere fancy and posh.
baker street perhaps? no, too posh.
I thought and thought until the perfect street finally came to mind, I wasn't 100% sure but I was at least going to give it a shot. so, I left the station and began to walk in the direction of that one particular street.
—————————
after quite a long walk, I eventually arrived at the street. I noticed silhouettes of people in many of the houses so I decided not to check those ones. settling with the first house in the street without silhouettes in the window, I made my way over.
cautiously, I knocked on the door and awaited an answer. relief flushed over me when a very confused tewkesbury opened the door.
"y/n?" he said, completely baffled, "what are you doing here? how did you get my address?!"
"don't even worry about that." I excused as tewkesbury stood aside to let me in, "enola's been arrested and she's in prison right now and I don't know what to do because-"
"hold on." he interrupted whilst closing the door with me now inside, "I know she was arrested but they're seriously taking her to prison?!"
"yes! they believe she murdered this girl called mae-" I stated only to be cut off once again.
"-enola would never to such a thing!" tewkesbury protested.
"-I know!" I cried out, "but grail wants her locked away so he can continue with his plan."
"what's his plan?" tewkesbury quizzed.
"the owners of the matchstick factory want more money or something and I'm not sure how it's all working but grail is murdering matchstick girls." I explained.
pursing his lips, tewkesbury replied, "enola's been investigating this case, I'm sure she knows a lot more but she's in prison so I don't know how on earth she's going to escape and conclude her case. there's no way of helping her escape, is there?"
"no," I shook my head, "god knows where the prison is and how on earth could us two alone break someone out of a guarded prison?!"
he sighed deeply, "we'll just have to wait." he then leaned back against the wall.
"just wait?!" I repeated in astonishment.
"well what else can we do?" tewkesbury said exasperatedly, "enola will find her own way out, trust me, she has her ways."
"and how would you know?" I scoffed.
"she saved my life last year." tewkesbury said and I paused momentarily.
"oh." was the only thing that managed to escape my lips.
