-reader's pov-
I strolled in, gazing around at the bathroom that was somehow elegant. paintings and sculptures decorated the room and a pleasant scent lingered about in the air, it smelt like vanilla.
"a luxury bathroom.. hm." I commented, "better than the dump I pee in."
"well, when you have money I guess you've got to spend it." enola said, now in the centre of the fancy room with me.
"true," I hummed before focusing on my task, "alright, so.. back straight."
enola instantly straightened her back and stood tall, no longer with a slouch.
"now, um.. my hand goes here.." I slipped my hand into enola's right hand, "and here.." I awkwardly placed my hand upon the side of her stomach.
"oh, yes." she said, pursing her lips.
"I know, I know but.. that's just how dance is." I shrugged before moving on, "now hold your left arm out." enola obliged and held her arm out.
"okay, good, now head over my shoulder." I instructed and she listened, holding her head high over my shoulder. "alright, now just follow in my footsteps. I'll count down."
"ready.. one, two, three. one, two, three." I repeated as we traveled around the room, we moved in sync and it was turning out okay, despite the fact the genders had been switched up.
it got to a point where I didn't have to count, we were both confidently striding around the room.
"where did you learn to dance?" enola asked out of interest.
I thought hard before answering with, "my mother."
"your mother.." she repeated, her eyebrows creasing as she was lost in thought, "then how did you end up working for grail?"
"she kicked me out." I explained, not really wanting to talk about this.
"but why?" enola continued to question me.
"long story, doesn't matter." I quickly replied.
"oh come on, something must've happened-" enola pleaded whilst we kept on smoothly dancing around.
"-enola, I don't want to talk about it." I interrupted, sternly glaring down at her.
"fine." she muttered before returning to the dance.
we pranced around nicely for a little longer until I spoke up again.
"you're a quick leaner." I complimented.
"thank you." enola gushed, pulling her head away slightly to look away from me. was that.. a blush I could see rising upon her cheeks?
"eyes on me." I reminded and she recast her gentle gaze upon me. our eyes interlocked, her angelic, brown eyes glistening in the candle flame.
I fought hard to extinguish the burning blush that urged to spread upon my cheeks like a wildfire.
my hands suddenly went all clammy and sweaty, why was I feeling this way? this wasn't normal.. enola's a girl, and I'm a girl too.
I quickly shoved these overwhelming thoughts aside and continued to dance. enola gracefully twisted underneath my raised arm, her hand falling upon my shoulder as she span back around to face me again. I could feel her warm breath blow at my lips, our faces inches apart after each twist.
my brain clouded with a million thoughts all over again until a knock came from the door. instantly breaking us apart and ending our dance routine.
"-we have an urgent situation." a woman's voice called from the other side.
"oh, um.." enola began, "the money, err-"
"enola, I don't want your money." I smiled lightly, "I enjoyed our.. dance, it was nice. thank you."
enola happily returned the smile, before I asked another question, "you have a dance card and fan, I trust?"
"yes, I have those." enola replied, showing them off.
"good, then, I'll see you around." I concluded with a chuckle, "and, hey, maybe I'll even consider no longer being your bounty hunter."
enola snorted in laughter, "we'll see." she then headed over to the door and left, leaving me to find my own way out.
