-reader's pov-
adjusting to the new surroundings, I made my way up the staircase in the pleasant cafe. upstairs I was met with at least a dozen women training in the martial arts. they grunted and kicked as I cautiously entered the room.
my eyes flickered about as I searched the area for enola, tewkesbury had told me this was where she was staying for now.
until I saw a tall figure standing through the glass door, I recognised this man as sherlock so headed over.
but on the way over, I noticed another figure join him. this one being a little shorter with substantially longer hair. I reached out to grasp the door handle and gave it a twist as my fingers met the cold metal.
I pulled the door open and was met with both enola and sherlock as expected. a shy smile crept upon my lips as enola and I shared eye contact.
"-well, I best get going." sherlock spoke up, "see you thursday, enola."
"bye!" enola and I smiled as she grabbed her coat from the hanger and slipped it on.
together, we left the room and made our way down the stairs and onto the street.

"so, any new cases?" I spoke up as we walked through the practically empty park together.
"no, not yet." enola replied, "but seeing as you seem interested, I was wondering if you'd like to join me in my work. we could, y'know, form a partnership?"
a spark suddenly set off through my heart, oh my god, this was such a good idea.
"wait, really?!" I exclaimed, so happy I could explode.
"yes, really!" enola chuckled, the wind blowing at her face caused her hair to blow too.
"of course, I'd love to!" I beamed.
"good, but just letting you know that the wages will be very low." enola warned.
"fine by me." I replied happily, taking in my surroundings. in the distance I could see big ben towering over westminster, being up on this grassy hill gave you a breathtaking view of the bustling city.
"working with you will be nice.." enola started up again, causing me to face her, my eyelids blinking slowly as I admired her beautiful features. "very nice.."
another small smile crept upon my lips as I tried my best to hide the blush that flared upon my cheeks, "if only my mother could see me now."
enola chuckled, "what makes you say that?"
"well, she'd be pretty shocked that I'm working with the most prettiest detective I know." I replied, almost losing myself in those dreamy eyes of hers.
a wide smile now cracked upon enola's lips, "and I'm guessing she'd be pretty shocked that this detective is extremely flustered right now?"
"oh," I chuckled heartily, "but not as shocked when she finds out I'm also very flustered, infact, she'd be appalled. disgusted even." the smile upon my face never faded.
"-but even more appalled by this." enola smirked before cupping my cheek and leaning in to kiss me.
the kiss was gentle and sweet, our lips fitted together and moved in sync perfectly. enola's touch on my neck brought me an unfamiliar warmth as the kiss only deepened. my eyes were sealed shut, just like enola's and I was glad this park was deserted, else a riot surely would've broken out by now.
after a few more seconds, we broke away for air. "-wow, not bad for my first kiss, eh?" I asked jokingly.
"same for me I hope." enola grinned, baring her perfect teeth.
"oh, definitely." I smiled before enola and I rested our heads together and just stood there. we swayed lightly from side to side, just enjoying eachother's embrace for what felt like forever.
