It's been a long year for the world. The talented girl loved by the world has been out of the limelight for over a year. No update, no new projects featuring her. The world missed her and were anticipating her comeback. A lot has happened since she went into rehab.
Stranger Things season 3 was released but a new season hasn't been announced due to her absence.
Avengers: Endgame came out and the entire cast wished that Kelly was there to see how much love the movie and her character got.
Her season of On My Block came out and her character got so much love and became a fan favorite immediately.
Axel and Destiny secretly got married
Ocean and Li'Angelo broke up
RFDP won nationals for the second time and more people have joined the company
Lamelo is close to going pro
Saige moved down permanently with her parents
That was just a little of all that happened. It was now December 20, 2019 and it was 9 am. It was quiet in the house except for the sound of Honey eating her food. Ryan was dead asleep in the bed, not noticing that Jasmine was gone. At the rehab center, Kelly sat at a table, writing a letter as she waited to leave. Kelly didn't look the same as when she first arrived. Her hair grew out and her curls were out to play, she was a little taller and overall looked healthier/happier. Pushing her glasses back up the bridge of her nose, she looked up as her name was called.
"Your mother is here" her assigned counselor said with a smile.
Kelly nodded and put her pencil down, standing up. Grabbing her token, she followed the councilor to the front of the building.
"This is for you" Kelly said, handing the letter to her before they stepped into the front area.
Kelly smiled when she saw her mom and ran to her, hugging her tightly. Jasmine laughed as she hugged her back.
"Look at this hair" Jasmine played with Kelly's hair. "Oh I missed you"
"I missed you too mom" Kelly mumbled and looked at her. "Did you get my letters?"
"I did. I made sure everyone got theirs too" Jasmine nodded and Kelly smiled. "You ready to go home?"
Kelly nodded and turned, hugging her councilor. "Thank you for everything"
"You're welcome" the councilor said and Kelly pulled away, going back to her mom before leaving.
Her councilor watched her leave before going to her office, sitting at her deck to read the letter.
Dear Mrs. Lanes, I want to thank you for helping me with my journey to understanding myself and helping me become the best version of myself. Without you, I'd still be stuck in my head and fall further into darkness so as a thank you to you and the facility, I'll be donating 3 million dollars to the company in order to further your practice, fix up the building, and help other girls and guys just like me. Love, Kelly
"This girl here" the councilor smiled and pinned the letter to her board just as her door opened and a new survivor was assigned to her.
"So how was it?" Jasmine asked Kelly on the drive home.
"It was the best choice I've ever made. I was able to get to the root of everything and they helped me. I honestly almost didn't want to leave" she explained, everyone listening to her. "I was able to relate to everyone there and hear their stories and how they dealt with it and that helped me because if I stayed here and didn't go and have that opportunity to meet others who were assaulted, I don't think I would have made it past my birthday honestly. I was starting to go crazy"
