Kelly leaned against Melo's arm as they walked the fair in Boston. She was out there to visit her family while he had a game there. Though she was smiling and having fun, it was obvious to anyone who knew her that deep down, she wasn't okay. Not by a long shot. It was like all the progress she made over the past year went out the window with just one post.
"You alright?" Melo asked quietly as he walked her away from the cameras that were following them around.
She nodded, looking up at him with those beautiful eyes he loved.
"I'm fine" she said with a sigh.
"Just know I don't believe you" he pulled her into his arms as she hugged his waist.
She stayed in his arms for a moment, a few tears falling from her eyes before pulling away wiping them quickly. He took their mics off, tossing them in a nearby trash before running off from the fair with her. Kelly chuckled and ran after him. They made it to the car and drove off from the fair. Kelly held Melo's hand as she looked out the window.
"Moms gonna be mad we did that" she chuckled.
"Oh my dad is gonna be pissed" Melo chuckled. "But it got you smiling as I don't care"
She kissed his hand and sang along quietly to the song on the radio as they got food and drove to hotel that the team was staying at.
"What's going on with your sister and J Ray?" Melo asked as Kelly ate her wings.
"London?" She asked getting a nod. "They're feeling each other out right now. Been on two dates since I introduced her at practice that day. Always on the phone" she chuckled "they were us back then"
"They can never be us though" he said and she nodded in agreement.
"Only one of us baby" she said as they did their handshake. "Number one couple out there"
"I don't think you're number one" London joked as she walked into the hotel room with slushees for them.
"Thanks" Kelly took hers and took a sip. "So good" she smiled.
"Where's mine at?" Melo asked as he dapped up J Ray.
"You didn't ask for one" London ate one of Kelly's wings.
