CUT TO: WEST CENTRAL DISTRICT

EXT. ANGELWOOD HIGH - AFTERNOON

DRAY AND ANTOINETTE SIT AT A TABLE IN THE COURTYARD.

[Antoinette]

So, what are you going to do with that reward money?

DRAY LOOKS AROUND WITH A PARANOID EXPRESSION.

[Dray]

Could you please not be so flippant when talking about something like that? You never know who's around. Especially with she-who-will-not-be-named back. I know she's gonna be all kinds of extra.

[Antoinette]

I'm sure that she will but she's not here now.

[Dray]

I was thinking about keeping 10% and giving the rest directly to a charity.

[Antoinette]

Only 10%?

[Dray]

It'd be a good chance to practice what I preach. Besides, it's still a lot of money. And I'm working too so I'm not that torn up about it.

[Antoinette]

It's the principle if you ask me. You've done a lot. You deserved a break. I know if I was in your shoes, I would have at least gone with half.

[Dray]

Do you think your uncle would be able to get me in contact with some kind of agency that deals with this sort of thing?

[Antoinette]

It wouldn't hurt to ask. I'm sure that you can find him.

[Dray]

Good point.

DRAY SPOTS VANESSA, RYKER AND EVELYN WALKING OVER TO WHERE THEY ARE.

[Dray]

Ah, hell.

THE TRIO STOPS AT DRAY AN ANTOINETTE'S TABLE.

[Antoinette]

What do you want, Vanessa?

[Vanessa]

There's nothing you have that I could ever want.

[Dray]

Except maybe for attention.

[Vanessa]

What did you say?

[Dray]

I said, except maybe for attention.

[Ryker]

You can't talk to her that way, punk!

[Dray]

Shut it you sycophant!

DRAY AND RYKER GLARE AT ONE ANOTHER. VANESSA JUMPS IN BETWEEN THE TWO OF THEM.

[Vanessa]

Ryker, you know if there's any place to prove yourself better, it's not here.

VANESSA LOOKS AT ANTOINETTE.

Antoinette, I would have honestly thought you could do better.

[Antoinette]

Come on, Vanessa, can't you leave well enough alone?

[Vanessa]

Hardley, we both know that you only hang out with this loser out of pity. It's the only reason I would.
