*Third POV*

Ace was lifted off the ground a bit while being choked by the rose bushes as everyone looked in horror at the sight in front of them. Riddle on the other hand had a glare on his face as he was staring at Ace. The glare made Ciel want to hit Riddle but he pushed those thoughts to the side to try and save Ace. He knew that he couldn't have Grim burn the branches off as he still had that collar around his neck, same with Deuce. But luckily, as Ciel was thinking of a plan to save Ace, he heard 'Paint The Roses!' and next thing he knew was the rose bushes turning into cards.

"Nngh?! What just-" Riddle stared in shock and confusion

Ciel looked to the side to see Trey walking in front of the group with a stern look on his face as he looked at Riddle. Ciel can tell that Trey's patience has ran out with Riddle's behavior and actions he had done. Despite the guilt that he was holding for so long was pushed aside by everything that was happening. Then Ciel heard coughing as he looked at Ace, who was on the ground after being dropped, he saw that Ace was trying to catch his breath. Once Ace did so, he opened his eyes to see cards floating around.

"Huh? I'm still alive? What's with all these playing cards?" Ace questions in confusion as Ciel hurried over to him

"Are you okay, Ace?" Ciel asked as Ace nods

"Yeah, I'm okay... Or at least I think I am." Ace answered As Ciel sighs in relief

Ciel smiled before doing something that wasn't really expected by him, which was giving Ace a couple of punches to his arm. Ace wasn't expecting that as he felt pain begin to take shape as Ciel kept punching him on the arm. Ciel then stepped back as Ace was holding his arm and rubs it to ease the pain.

"Ouch! That hurts!"

Ciel knew he wasn't strong, which was why he did a couple of hits to make Ace feel pain to show him how worried he was. Ace looked at Ciel before freezing when he saw the boy's face, Ciel had some tears forming in his eye as he was looking at Ace with a scowl. Despite his expression, concern was seen in Ciel's eye as he had his hands on his hips.

"When someone is threatening you. You run and don't continue to provoke the assailant! Do you understand!" Ciel scolded him as Ace nods, not wanting to cause the boy more worry.

"Good." Ciel looked around as Deuce motioned at the sight

"All the rose trees turned into cards?" Deuce asked

"It seems to be Trey's doing." Ciel said

Ciel looked to see that Trey was standing in front of them as a means to protect them from Riddle's wrath. Ciel looked to see that Riddle was now glaring at Trey with confusion and betrayal. Ciel winces at the sight before him as Cater was walking towards the group in confusion and shock at what happened.

"Riddle, stop this right now!" Trey said sternly

"Wait, is that Trey's "Paint the Roses"?! But... how?!" Cater asked in shock

"Trey told us that he can alter sensory characteristics. That's why the Rose bushes are now cards." Ciel explained as Cater nods

"All the magic-sealin' collars are gone!" Grim said in surprise while Ciel looked to see that Grim was right, the collars were gone.

"Which means, you three can use your magic again!" Ciel said as Deuce, Ace, and Grim got in front of him.

"Stay close, Ciel. We don't want you getting hurt." Deuce informed him

"That's right, we'll be crushed if that happens." Ace stated

"How am I supposed to eat without you!" Grim said as Ciel smiles at the group

"What did I tell you? My magic can overwrite characteristics for a short time. So I used it to make 'Riddle's magic' into 'my magic.'" Trey informs the group

"That was some great thinking!" Ciel shouted

Trey looks at Ciel with a smile on his face before looking back at Riddle, while Cater looked surprised by the information. It seemed that Cater didn't know the full extent of Trey's signature spell like he thought he did.

"You can do that? That's some kinda loophole!" Cater said while feeling a bit impress

"N-no... Off with their heads! I SAID, off with their heads!" Riddle said as he tried to use his magic only for it not to work. Which made him even more mad as Trey looked at him with a stern look

"Riddle, stop. Can't you see how you look right now?" Trey said while being stern

Around the group, Ciel heard other students calling out and talking in quiet and fearful tones to avoid Riddle's wrath. Ciel clenched his fists and frowns as he heard what each of them said about Riddle. Even though there was a part of him that wants agrees with them, he stopped himself from doing so.

"He... He was really gonna do it!"

"He is completely out of control."

"He's like some kinda monster!"

'This is only gonna get worse if we don't do something. We need to calm Riddle down, and fast or else something worse will happen.' Ciel thought as he looked at Cater

"Has this happen before?" Cater looked at him before shaking his head

"For as long as I've known him, no. We are in some serious trouble if this continues" Cater informs him as Ciel nods in agreement.

"Thank you for pulling me out of harms way earlier, Deuce." Ciel said as Deuce glanced at him

"It was no trouble at all! It's what friends do!" Deuce said with a smile

Ciel smiled back at him before he turned towards Riddle, who was angry at the sudden turn of events. Ciel saw that more ink began to form on the gemstone as he felt the pain increase even more than before. He watched as Riddle glared at Trey before yelling at him in a tone that made Ciel flinch.

"What? Was my magic overwritten by yours? Does that mean your signature spell is stronger than mine?!" Riddle demanded

"Of course it doesn't. Riddle, take a deep breath and listen to us." Trey tried to calm him

"Are YOU going to tell me that I'm wrong too? After all I've done to protect the rule of law?! Do you know how much I've suffered for this?! I... I refuse to believe this!" Riddle yelled with some tears in his eyes

Ciel couldn't take the look in Riddle's eyes anymore before he ran past Deuce, Ace, and Grim, who tried to stop him as stood beside Trey. Ciel knew that this was also his fault for causing this to happen and he plans to fix that. Even if it means that he'll get hurt in the process.

"Riddle, you've done enough. Please listen to him, he's only trying to help you!" Ciel tries to explain to Riddle.

Riddle glared at Ciel with a lot of malice that he flinched but still held his ground as he glared at Riddle but not in anger but concern.

"You! You... Ever since you showed up, all of them started to rebel against me! Did you convince him to rebel too?!"

"I never convince any of them to rebel against you, Riddle, you're the one driving them away!" Ciel shouted at him.

"Cease immediately, Mr. Rosehearts! Any further attempt to use magic will leave your magestone completely tainted with blot!" Crowley exclaims to him

"What happens if it becomes completely tainted...?" Ciel asked in concern

'Will he become that dwarf thing that me and my friends defeated back at the mine...? That's just cruel! He may have done bad things to others including myself, but no one deserve a punishment like that!'

"But... I'm right! I'M the one who's right! There is NO! POSSIBLE! ALTERNATIVE!" Riddle said as his face was red.

"Riddle, no!" Ciel pleaded

"Riddle, stop!" Trey pleaded
